Ops Tech Alliance (OTA) is seeking experienced Instructional Designers to join our team primarily supporting a United States Department of Defense customer at Pope Army Airfield, NC. The Instructional Designer will be responsible for designing, developing, and organizing training content that meets the technical and operational needs of the customer. Working closely with Subject Matter Experts (SMEs), Adult Education Specialists, and Instructors, the Instructional Designer will ensure that all training materials are pedagogically sound, engaging, and aligned with mission-critical objectives.
Responsibilities
Design and develop training content including lesson plans, practical exercises, and assessments.
Collaborate with Subject Matter Experts (SMEs) to ensure that all course content is accurate, relevant, and up-to-date with the latest technological and operational developments.
Work with Adult Education Specialists to ensure that course materials are aligned with best practices for adult education and designed for a variety of learning styles.
Develop and maintain online and in-person training materials, ensuring seamless integration with Learning Management Systems (LMS) and other educational platforms.
Create and refine blended learning modules, combining virtual learning with in-residence and mobile training team (MTT) instruction.
Design interactive training aids such as simulations, group projects, and practical exercises that reinforce key learning objectives.
Provide ongoing course maintenance and updates to ensure that all training materials remain relevant to evolving operational requirements and technologies.
Collaborate with Instructors to ensure they are equipped with the instructional aids necessary to deliver content effectively, and assist in the evaluation and improvement of their teaching methods.
Required Qualifications
Bachelor's degree plus 2 years of experience in Instructional Design, Education, or a related field
Experience designing and developing Levels 2 and 3 multimedia training solutions using Articulate Storyline that are 508 and SCORM compliant
Experience with all phases of the ADDIE process
Experience with Moodle and LMS Operations
Proficiency in multimedia development tools, prototyping software, and e-learning authoring tools such as Articulate Storyline
Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, PowerPoint, and Excel)
Active Secret clearance or the ability to obtain one, with the ability to obtain a Top Secret clearance
Preferred Qualifications
Experience working in a military training or defense contracting environment
Familiarity with Tactical Data Links (TDLs), Joint Interface Control Officer (JICO) operations, or related systems
Advanced degree in Instructional Design, Educational Technology, or Curriculum Development
