SAIC is seeking a Senior System-VDI Engineer that is passionate about craftsmanship, teamwork, and delivering user capability to support the Air Force weather community on the Technology Application Development & Sustainment (TADS) contract located at the Offutt, AFB in Nebraska.
The Senior System - VDI Engineer will support all aspects of VMware virtualization; configuration, implementation, management of servers in virtualized environment, and VDI implementations. The candidate also should have a foundation in Windows and network management skills. This position requires a mixture of engineering, operations, hands-on technical and support skills. Qualified candidates should have excellent troubleshooting and analytical skills. The individual will work closely with technical leads, infrastructure and operations teams and other cross-department teams to evaluate business needs and provide end-to-end technical solutions and manage, operate, monitor, audit, secure server Virtualization assets within an empowered, cross-functional team.

Qualifications
Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Information Assurance, or Cyber Security and nine (9) + years of applicable experience.
Must have the ability to install and configure vCenter Server.
Must be able to work with ESXi cluster servers.
Must have experience monitoring the health of VMs operating in various data centers.
Experience with VMware Horizon View, VMware vCenter, vSphere Client and Web Client, VMware Workstation, managing VMware Horizon user profiles and understanding VMware's integration with complex storage technologies.
Demonstrated experience in all aspects of enterprise Windows environment operations and maintenance (O&M) and engineering.
Experience with performing root cause analysis, risk identification, and risk mitigation.
Demonstrated experience in a fast tempo ITSM support environment.
Familiarity with Agile methodologies (Scrum, XP, Kanban, Lean, Theory of Constraints).
Experience with configuration management tools (Git, Mercurial, ...).
Must be a US Citizen and must be able to obtain a Secret clearance.
Preferred Qualifications:
CompTIA Security+, Network+, CSSLP, or equivalent.
VMware certification VCP/VCAP and/or VDI Certification.
Active Secret Clearance.
CISSP.
Familiarity with 557th Weather Wing.
Familiarity with meteorological data formats like METAR, GriB, GriB2, and NetCDF.
Familiarity with Continuous Integration/Continuous Delivery concepts and enabling tools such as Jenkins, Maven, and Ansible.
Familiarity with service based standards such as REST and Open Geospatial Consortium (OGC) Web Services (OWS).
Testing tools (e.g. Junit, Selenium, jMeter).
Code quality tools (e.g. Sonar, Cast).
Static scanning (e.g. Fortify).
