Summary This National Guard position is for a GENERAL SUPPLY SPECIALIST, Position Description Number D2781000 and is part of the OH 179 Cyberspace Wing, Ohio Air National Guard. The primary purpose of this position is to serve as a General Supply Specialist in a developmental capacity. Responsibilities As a GENERAL SUPPLY SPECIALIST, GS-2001-7/9, you will perform the following duties: 1. Performs developmental assignments. Performs developmental assignments of moderate difficulty where work procedures are established, and a number of specific guidelines exist. Work assignments consisting of a series of specific and related tasks have been selected to orient the employee in the practical application of basic Supply principles, concepts, and techniques. Assignments are combined with training to further develop analytical skills and techniques as a General Supply Specialist. Assistance in solving problems is available from the supervisor or a higher-graded specialist. 2. Performs recurring assignments. Independently performs recurring assignments of limited, but gradually increasing, difficulty and complexity. The employee is responsible for locating and selecting the most appropriate guidelines and procedures for application and making minor deviations to adapt the guidelines to specific cases. Analyzes routine problems that are encountered and resolves them. Refers deviations, problems, and unfamiliar situations to the supervisor for assistance. 3. Participates in special initiatives, studies, and projects. Works with other specialists in planning and conducting special initiatives, studies, and projects. Assists in preparing reports and briefings outlining study findings and recommendations. 4. Prepares written correspondence and other documentation. Drafts or prepares a variety of documents to include newsletter items, responses to routine inquiries, reports, letters, and other related documents. Performs other duties as assigned. Males born after 31 December 1959 must be registered for Selective Service. Federal employment suitability as determined by a background investigation. MILITARY REQUIREMENTS: Compatible military grade and assignment required within one year of the effective date of placement. This is an excepted service position that requires membership in a compatible military assignment in the employing state's National Guard. For positions requiring a security clearance (Secret or Top Secret) the applicant must possess or be able to obtain a clearance within one year of appointment Qualifications GENERAL EXPERIENCE: Use the Office of Personnel Management Group Coverage Qualification Standard for Administrative and Management Positions education requirements and specialized experience time requirements of 1-year equivalent to at least next lower grade level for two-grade interval work. SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE: 1-year specialized experience equivalent to at least the next lower grade. Demonstrated ability researching documents or other resources to coordinate inventory requirements. Knowledge of stock levels, inventory, shipping, receiving, requisitioning and requirements of supplies and equipment. Experience involving the control of supply stocks and accounting for equipment. Knowledge of supply management, cataloging, maintenance, and disposal procedures. Experience which required person-to-person contacts to convey information and ability to compile reports, letters, memoranda, etc. Demonstrated experience with cost estimates, budgets, or funding management. Experience conducting extensive and exhaustive searches for required information; reconstruct records for complex supply transactions; and/or provide supply operations support for supply activities. Additional Information If serving under an incentive contract, termination of that incentive(s) will occur effective one day prior to your AGR, Permanent Military Technician, or Indefinite Military Technician start date.
