Electrical and Computer Engineer Intern
Key Role:
Support critical Government research and development programs related to microelectronics design and verification. Work with industry-leading engineers in world-class research facilities to impact national security investment through new development of military applications for cutting-edge technologies. Provide technical management support and strategic assessments of new technologies to support senior DoD decision makers, including conducting background research in evaluating the feasibility of and potential applications for new technological concepts. Produce and present findings and recommendations to a team of colleagues and clients, assist with technical program management and program development, and brief materials out for government research and development efforts.
Basic Qualifications:
Experience with ASIC or FPGA design languages and workflows, including VHDL, Verilog, or SystemVerilog
Knowledge of ASIC or FPGA functional verification, analysis, and techniques using simulation and emulation, UVM testbenches, or formal verification
Ability to learn custom integrated circuit layouts for digital, analog, and mixed-signal designs
Ability to learn hardware assurance, trust, and cyber security concepts
Ability to work independently and within a team, participate in client meetings, and deliver presentations
Ability to obtain a Secret clearance
Scheduled to obtain a Master's degree in Electrical Engineering or Computer Engineering by Winter 2024 or Spring 2025
Additional Qualifications:
Experience with commercial EDA or Open Source tools for VLSI design, synthesis, place and route physical design, integration, timing, and power optimization, including vendors, such as Cadence, Mentor, Synopsys, or Xilinx
Experience with writing UVM or SystemVerilog tests and collecting coverage metrics for functional verification
Experience with the design of electronic architectures using microprocessors and peripherals, including oscillators, SRAM, or Flash
Experience with performing technical research, documenting results, and presenting findings to customers and stakeholders
Experience with embedded GNU and Linux

Salary at Booz Allen is determined by various factors, including but not limited to location, the individual's particular combination of education, knowledge, skills, competencies, and experience, as well as contract-specific affordability and organizational requirements. The projected compensation range for this position is $54,000.00 to $123,000.00 (annualized USD). The estimate displayed represents the typical salary range for this position and is just one component of Booz Allen's total compensation package for employees.
