Job Summary
Battelle is seeking applicants for the role of Division Manager, Health Analytics at Battelle. The Director will drive and oversee a data science and applications development division with an established portfolio of work for federal clients in data modernization, AI/machine learning, public health and biomedical informatics. The Director will lead the development of a division strategy focused on program excellence and growth. This role is responsible for the organization, management and business performance of the Division. The Director leads a team of top-tier health analytics professionals including supporting career growth and employee engagement.
The ideal candidate will have experience overseeing advanced analytics and predictive modeling programs in the federal health market. The candidate will shape and continue the growth of a successful portfolio of federal and commercial work, ensure excellence in program delivery and contribute to projects in area of expertise. The candidate will work closely with colleagues in public health research, life sciences, and medical devices to develop leading edge solutions to improve health and human performance.
The position will be based in either the Washington, DC metro area or Columbus, OH. Consideration will be given for remote teleworking .
Responsibilities
Provide leadership, strategic guidance, and financial management for all aspects of the Division's work.
Foster and strengthen relationships with key clients and federal agencies.
Facilitate growth of a business pipeline focused on Battelle's health analytics and digital capabilities.
Lead business development efforts including capture and proposal activities for opportunities up to $150M.
Lead staff management including recruiting, establishing performance goals and appraising performance, and providing opportunities for career development
Assure appropriate staffing levels and skill mix commensurate with the business. Direct and organize staff assignments to various projects.
Assume responsibility for projects within the Division by ensuring strong project management and review
Ensure financial performance of the Division including attaining gross business volume, net income, and intellectual property goals as well as maximizing profitability, cost control and investment decisions.
Guarantee staff conduct research, development, and technical activities within the established business ethics, safety and quality policies and procedures.
Work across Battelle market sectors to ensure continuity and coordination in the areas of business development, client management, and program management
Key Qualifications
A bachelor's degree in health data analytics, data science, statistics, computer science or associated field.
Broad knowledge of advanced analytics, research data infrastructure, discovery platforms and the application of artificial intelligence/machine learning for health.
10 years of management experience; or an equivalent combination of education and or experience in a related field.
Demonstrated success managing, developing, and leading diverse technical groups and staff to ensure achievement of goals.
Demonstrated success identifying new business opportunities and growing revenue and technical capability to meet market need.
Demonstrated understanding of financial metrics and cost efficiencies that have a positive business impact.
Experience in, or a thorough understanding of project management including proposal or grant preparation, developing project plans and Gannt charts, spend plans, and managing work execution including earned value.
Excellent communication skills to effectively interact with top management and with client organizations, subcontractors, consultants, and staff.
Requires ability to obtain and maintain government security clearances
