DCS Infoscitex Sector is seeking a Systems Engineer to support extensive high visibility Modeling, Simulation, and Analysis (MS&A) efforts. As a member of our team, you will support defense technologies along with research and development in Dayton, OH, having opportunities to work in a dynamic environment, with state of the art simulation technologies, simulation integration experts, and experienced military Subject Matter Experts (SME). This position will work to build plans and supervise development of model-based systems engineering tools to support both hardware and software for advanced autonomous aerial refueling technology. The position will study and understand autonomous air refueling's primary objectives, evaluate architecture and digital models that desire technology utilizing Digital Engineering Tools (such as SysML and CAMEO). Additionally, they will work with government and other industry partners to test, evaluate, field, and sustain necessary programs and capabilities to build out leading edge technology.
Essential Job Functions:
Support complex technology studies.
Support system-level integration and validation.
Help define and analyze air refueling missions and evaluating mission capabilities/performance for various scenarios and vignettes.
Support assessments of vendor systems engineering practices to support risk reduction.
Support end-to-end aircraft system architecture analyses and simulate operational tasking and resource utilization.
Be proficient at framing conceptual challenges, developing and documenting methodologies to model, simulate, and analyze those challenges.
Communicate (both written and verbal) clear insights and observations based on complex technical data interpretation to senior-level leadership and external customers.
Collaborate with a range of organizations and customers to obtain necessary authoritative data, analytic techniques, and assumptions so that results from the above activities remain consistent with the general DoD analytic community.
Provide hands-on technical leadership and knowledge transfer as needed, to facilitate the successful adoption of technologies newly introduced into the AFSIM M&S suite.
Demonstrate technical ownership and accountability.
Required Skills:
Due to the sensitivity of customer related requirements, U.S. Citizenship is required.
At least a BS degree in engineering, science, mathematics, or a related technical discipline and 12 years of related technical experience.
Applicants selected will be subject to a U.S. Government background investigation and must meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information: eligible to attain a Secret level U.S. DoD security clearance.
Excellent written and verbal English communications skills.
Ability to apply the scientific method to diverse MS&A efforts.
Scripting and/or programming experience in one or more of the following languages/tools: C++, Python, R, JMP, STK.
Experience utilizing Digital Engineering tools: SysML and/or CAMEO.
Ability to work well in team environments.
Desired Skills:
Hands-on experience creating AFSIM scenarios and models for engagement and/or mission level studies.
MS in engineering, science, mathematics, or related technical discipline.
Active security clearance, Secret or higher.
Familiarity with modern military systems, both foreign and domestic.
