The Research Engineer position will work collaboratively with teams of: scientists (chemists, physicists, computer, etc.); engineers (mechanical, electrical, aerospace, chemical, materials, software, computer, etc.); technical leaders (both internal and external); business leaders (strategic, sales, marketing, finance, etc.); and, customers (both internal and external.) The Research Engineer will contribute to the team to advance the state-of-the-art in technical knowledge and deliver solutions that solve customer's challenges. The Research Engineer is expected to plan, propose, manage, conduct and report on research and development activities in their field of specialization or expertise. The Research Engineer is expected to have an awareness of the state-of-the-art in their technical field and to build relationships with external technology and product leaders.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
? Collaborate with R&D team to conceptualize and optimize innovative systems for various applied R&D projects.
? Formulate conceptual design of products or systems to meet customer requirements.
? Develop design criteria including testing methods, production costs, quality standards and completion dates.
? Evaluate findings to develop new concepts, products, equipment, or processes or to develop applications of findings to
new uses.
? Communicate technical results, plans, and issues with internal and external customers, including presenting and writing
reports and proposals.
? Coordinate or participate in the design, fabrication, assembly, and testing of components and systems.
? Manage technical tasks and objectives to meet customers' schedules and budgets.
? Develop and maintain relationships with new and existing customer and supplier base to support program area growth.
? Identify and pursue new opportunities that fit within the corporate objectives and strategic direction.
? Performs other related duties as assigned.

Requirements
Exclusive U.S. citizenship is required.
Ability to obtain and maintain a SECRET security clearance is required.
Minimum B.S. in their respective field of study such as (Electrical, Mechanical, Materials, Aerospace, Chemical, Physics
Engineering or equivalent is required. Master's or Ph.D. degree is preferred.
Three to five years of demonstrated work experience in an applied R&D center is preferred.
Position may require specific experience in various discipline such as Electrical, Mechanical, Materials, Aerospace, Chemical, Physics, including tools, technologies, and/or methodologies associated with discipline.

Salary Range: $80,000 - $150,000 depending on experience
