**Position Title: Environmental Health and Safety Technician (EHS Tech)
Reports To: Safety Superintendent
Position Summary:** The EHS Technician ensures environmental, health, and safety compliance as outlined by federal, state, and local agencies and as contractually required.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Reports to the EHS Safety Superintendent
Monitors, evaluates, and enforces the PSI Environmental, Health and Safety programs
Conducts routine safety inspections and surveillances; ensures discrepancies are corrected
Performs Shipyard Competent Person duties
Maintains administrative files as required by the EHS Manual, NPDES permit and other requirements
Completes accident/incident/illness investigations and reports to Management and Corporate Insurance Department
Provides training as necessary to meet the requirements of regulatory agencies, the EHS Manual and to ensure the ongoing education and safety of employees
Maintains safety training records
Conducts Job Hazard Analysis (JHA) to ensure employees take required precautionary measures
Maintains HAZ/Non-HAZ waste site(s) and materials
Assists in performance of tasks related to environmental compliance with NPDES per management, state, and/or federal laws, rules, and/or regulations
Perform other duties as assigned

Education/Training:
Minimum of 2 years of safety/environmental experience in the marine repair/construction industry preferable
Shipyard Competent Person Certification experience preferred
OSHA 10-hour maritime, construction or general industry certification
HAZWOPER 40-hour certification preferred
First Aid / CPR certification preferred
Ability to effectively operate office equipment, to include desktop computers, calculators, printers, copy machines and telephones
Qualification/Requirement:
Must show proof of your legal right to work in the United States
This position requires US Citizenship due to security clearance required for base access
Must be able to successfully obtain a Transportation Worker Identification Credential (TWIC)
Must be able to successfully obtain a Defense Biometric Identification System (DBIDS) Credential to gain access to federally controlled work sites
All candidates must submit to and pass a post-offer drug screening and background check before employment begins. Failure to complete any of these steps will result in disqualification
Valid State of Hawaii drivers license in good standing
Candidates must have access to reliable transportation to get to work and other job sites on time for the start of a shift
