Position Title: WAFCOR (Work Authorization Form Coordinator)
Reports To: Safety Superintendent
Position Summary: The WAFCOR manages, coordinates, oversees, and enforces the Work Authorization Form (WAF) process for all industrial entities onboard Navy Vessels during ship repair availabilities. The WAFCOR ensures that all Trades and Subcontractors abide by the rules and regulations established by the Joint Fleet Maintenance Manual (JFMM). They verify that all Work Authorization Forms are generated correctly and complete upon receipt and submittal. They are the liaison between Ships Force and Repair Activities for WAF processing and to assist in resolving tag-out conflicts.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Reports to the Safety Superintendent
Implements and maintains the WAFCOR policy
Reads and interprets technical documents associated with WAF policies and processes
Conducts WAF training and maintains WAF training records
Ensures compliance with the NAVSEA Standard Items, EM 385-1-1, and the PSI EHS Program Manual
Physical activities requires walking, climbing, stretching, bending, lifting, and sitting
Perform other duties as assigned

Preferred Experience/Education/Training:
Experience in ship repair or previous Navy shipboard experience
Familiar with JFMM, TUM, and NAVSEA Standard Items
Ability to effectively operate office equipment, to include desktop computers, calculators, printers, copy machines and telephones
Qualification/Requirement:
Must show proof of your legal right to work in the United States
This position requires US Citizenship due to security clearance required for base access
Must be able to successfully obtain a Transportation Worker Identification Credential (TWIC)
Must be able to successfully obtain a Defense Biometric Identification System (DBIDS) Credential to gain access to federally controlled work sites
All candidates must submit to and pass a post-offer drug screening and background check before employment begins. Failure to complete any of these steps will result in disqualification
Valid State of Hawaii drivers license in good standing
Candidates must have access to reliable transportation to get to work and other job sites on time for the start of a shift
