We are seeking an experienced Staff Systems Administrator with expert knowledge of ground infrastructure requirements and VAX compute environments to join our talented, diverse team in Redondo Beach, CA.
As a Systems Administrator, your primary duties will include technical leadership and mentoring of other Systems Admins, lab management and VAX OS maintenance; working with isolated computer networks; understanding of cyber controls, cyber mitigations, RMF artifacts and cyber testing techniques.
Basic Qualifications:
12 Years of relevant experience with Bachelors; 10 Years with Masters; 8 Years with PhD
Active Secret Clearance at the time of application
Ability to present findings and progress reports in a presentation format with leaders at various levels both in person and remote
Understanding of Cyber products for systems to include logging, vulnerability scanning, intrusion detection mechanisms, patching systems, anti-virus and related processes
Understanding of VAX
Understanding Security Technical Implementation Guides (STIGs) and configuration standards for DOD IA and IA-enabled devices/systems
Experience in cyber controls as they relate to ground stations (this will include common and uncommon mitigation strategies across a multi-platform system)
General understanding of network operations; assign IP address, hostname, DNS, NTP, etc
Upkeep of system configurations with proper configuration management
Ability to obtain Security + certification
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience with COMSEC devices and processes
Experience supporting real-time operations, and the ground hardware and software involved with mission operations.
Current DoD 8570 Security + CE certification (IAT Level II compliant)
Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP) certification
Vendor certifications from any of VMware, RedHat, Microsoft or Cisco
Salary Range: $149,900 - $224,900
The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.
Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
