The Role
Studio Services manages and develops production solutions and resources for cross-functional partners who produce promotional, marketing, social, and internal content. The Studio and equipment Specialist is the primary facilitator for equipment, studio, and crew requests and oversees the day-to-day coordination of responsibilities to ensure partner and project needs are met.
Responsibilities:
Serve as the main point of contact for stakeholders on project-specific studio, crew, and equipment requests.
Build and manage orders and quotes, ensuring timely completion through effective logistical coordination.
Reserve in-house inventory and source additional equipment from partners or external vendors.
Offer technical and budgetary guidance to optimize project outcomes.
Coordinate the preparation, dispatch, and return of orders, maintaining alignment with project timelines.
Oversee the booking and payroll processes for technicians and crew members.
Arrange studio access, including crew/talent building entry, parking, and security clearance.
Organize equipment delivery, pickup, and load-in/load-out processes.
Support the packing and returns of equipment orders
Ensure the studio is reset between shoots and maintain general cleanliness and upkeep.
Finalize orders, manage invoices, and handle project billing both internally and with external vendors.
Collaborate with cross-functional partners to ensure alignment and overall project success
Maintain and organize studio spaces and equipment, conducting quality control checks as needed.
Support the development and maintenance of digital inventory management and order booking systems.
Conduct remote filming sessions as necessary.
Support the Manager in R&D efforts for studio offerings, partnerships, and solutions.
Contribute to the development and updating of operational guidebooks and workflows.
Assist with the physical load-in and load-out of gear as needed.
Onboard technicians and support personnel into workflows and processes
Qualifications:
Supervisory Experience: 3-5 years experience in supervising personnel and equipment operations for an equipment rental house and/or studio.
Order Production: 3-5 years experience in building equipment packages and quotes, working with end users on balancing project needs and costs, and negotiating B2B pricing. Understanding of the account creation process inclusive of COI and credit requirements.
Asset Tracking Software: Experience with inventory / rental tracking software, inclusive of order generation, inventory ingestion, inventory data management, and invoicing. RentalTracker experience preferred.
Tooling: Experience utilizing, managing data, and supporting backend development with tools such as Coda.io and Airtable.
Crew Onboarding: Experience handling crew onboarding and payroll, Wrapbook preferred.
Technical Expertise: Deep understanding of professional cinema/photography cameras and lighting equipment.
Organizational Skills: Strong ability to organize and multitask effectively, managing multiple ongoing requests of varying scopes and scales.
Communication Skills: Strong communication and interpersonal abilities to deliver thoughtful service and effectively collaborate with diverse teams. Experience with intra-departmental processes and operations.
Problem-Solving Ability: Proactive approach to identifying and resolving issues efficiently.
Adaptability: Curiosity and willingness to adapt and innovate operational processes to scale offerings effectively.
Logistical Coordination: Adept at logistical coordination utilizing various modes of transport: FedEx, courier, freight, etc.. Experience in shipping requirements both domestic and international.
Production Knowledge: Solid understanding of general shoot production operations, workflows, and crew booking protocols.
Industry Insight: Knowledge of the studio and equipment vendor landscape in major production hubs as well as technology trends and use cases
Generally, our compensation structure consists solely of an annual salary; we do not have bonuses. You choose each year how much of your compensation you want in salary versus stock options. To determine your personal top-of-market compensation, we rely on market indicators and consider your specific job family, background, skills, and experience to determine your compensation in the market range. The range for this role is $60,000-$234,000.
