The Lead Instrumentation Engineer - Flight Test demonstrates leadership in communicating business goals, programs, and processes for an area or business segment. In this role you will utilize your experience or expertise to solve problems, develop and execute objectives for self and others, and have the ability to effect short-term and some long-term business goals.
Job Description
Roles and Responsibilities
Execute with limited guidance on the analysis / evaluation of assigned projects that meet business standards, practices and procedures and the product / program requirements
Maintain open and close communication with FTO Team, Evendale engineering customer, and Airframer Customer.
Organize and lead teams to accomplish flight test missions
Recommend approach to meet the technical and program requirements
Formulate and implement plans to achieve technical requirements, schedules and contract commitments
Develop action plans to anticipate and respond to problems
Provide technical guidance to other personnel and assigned teams; mentor others in the organization
Lead or participate in organizational efforts in assigned projects and/or tasks
Assure proper documentation of technical data generated for the assigned projects and/or tasks consistent with engineering policies and procedures
Monitor and communicate project status, business issues and significant developments
Participate as a presenter or reviewer in technical and program reviews
Author instrumentation and systems descriptions of the test request
Troubleshoot instrumentation squawks and provide solution and instructions for technicians
Maintain instrumentation configuration and actively communicate changes with engineering teams and customers
Ensure data quality and perform quantitative instrumentation checks
Data acquisition and signal processing
Required Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Aerospace Engineering or Electrical Engineering from an accredited university or college
Ability and willingness to work flexible and off-shift hours (including 1st, 2nd, 3rd shift, nights, weekends, and holidays) when business needs dictate.
Ability and willingness to travel to and support operations at offsite locations when business needs dictate.
Ability and willingness to fly aboard an experimental aircraft including participation in development flight tests.
Able to obtain and maintain FAA Class-3 medical certificate or equivalent.
At least 5 additional years of experience in Engineering position

Ability to monitor and troubleshoot aircraft electrical, instrumentation/data acquisition and power management systems
Ability to monitor and understand various analog and digital data acquisition systems used in the testing environment
Ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. DoD Security Clearance.
The base pay range for this position is $99,900 - $133,200 - 166,500. The specific pay offered may be influenced by a variety of factors, including the candidate's experience, education, and skill set. This position is also eligible for an annual discretionary bonus based on a percentage of your base salary/commission based on the plan. This posting is expected to close on 8/27/2024.
