Job Summary
Battelle’s Commercial CCUS Division is currently seeking a CCS Field Engineer. This position is located in Columbus, OH, but will consider remote locations.
The selected individual will provide field project support to our carbon storage programs. Examples of responsibilities based on current or anticipated projects include:
- Provide day to day CCUS project guidance and support either from the office or at field sites.
- Help define project task requirements along with costs, schedule, and technical needs.
- Develop and/or refine work breakdown structure to a level sufficient to identify all the work required for task or project completion.
- Interact with clients both in meetings & in the field.
- Provide technical expertise for a variety of subsurface engineering applications with particular emphasis on drilling.
- Support preparation of proposals to provide geologic characterization, construction, and or operations for CCUS storage facilities.
- Apply safety standards and procedures to complete safety checks and verify compliance with the safety plans of a tasks.
- Incorporates safe workplace practices into task work.
Key Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree in Petroleum Engineering, Geology, Civil Engineering, or closely related discipline and 3 years of experience with subsurface geologic activities. (i.e. Oil & Gas roles).
- Knowledge of CCUS.
- Working knowledge of geologic principles as applied to subsurface projects such as CCS storage facilities.
- Excellent written and oral communication skills.
- Ability to make technically and economically sound recommendations with incomplete information.
Desired Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree in Petroleum Engineering, Geology, Civil Engineering, or closely related discipline and 7 years of experience with subsurface geologic activities. (i.e. Oil & Gas roles).
- Project Management Professional (PMP) certification.
- Experience in project management software, such as Microsoft Project.
- Experience with work under regulatory control.
- Experience working on a CCUS Project.
