Job Description: Alluvionic has a contingent opening for Aircrew Flight Equipment onsite at an Air Force client facility in Cocoa Beach, FL and Cape Canaveral, FL. This full-time position is integral to a military unit supporting the 1st Air Force and the unit serves as a liaison between NASA, the United States Space Command, the Air Force, and the Navy. This position supports activities that include, but are not limited to inventory, maintain, inspect, modify, repair, pack, and sustain equipment items required for the astronaut rescue mission. The aircrew flight equipment support for the Rescue Equipment Package includes parachutes, aerial delivery packages and support equipment. Mission equipment packages are located at Cape Canaveral Space Force Station, Joint Base Pearl Harbor-Hickam, and Joint Base Charleston. This position may require approximately 25% travel to support these locations. Key Responsibilities: This position will provide oversight support for all logistics efforts associated with the Rescue Equipment Package. These efforts include supervising specialized individuals providing vehicle maintenance support, aircrew flight equipment support, dive locker logistics support, and inventory management. Assist development, maintenance and/or revision of maintenance and logistics operating instructions to satisfy unit missions and ensure personnel safety.
Plan and schedule parachute and fabric activities.
Check repaired and repacked survival equipment and determine serviceability based on required specifications and technical publications.
Disassemble, assemble, inspect, clean, fabricate, repair, and pack fabric and rubber components, including flotation equipment, and parachutes for personnel and cargo.
Rig rescue associated aerial delivery packages.
Install, remove, inspect, test and set automatic rip cord release opening devices.
Store, handle, and inspect pyrotechnic items.
Inspect, maintain and adjust operator equipment such as oxygen masks, survival kits, and night vision systems.
Inspect and repack aerial delivery packages and advanced parachute systems utilized by Guardian Angels to accomplish unit mission.
Advise on performance standards, work methods and on inspection, repair and repack of unit aircrew flight equipment.
Administer all routine maintenance requirements for assigned aircrew flight equipment.
Operate, maintain and inspect survival equipment machinery, test equipment and tools.
Perform operator maintenance and service inspections on shop equipment and tools.
Store, handle, use and dispose of hazardous waste and materials based on environmental standards and guidance.
Maintain the Material Safety Data Sheet and hazardous material program for unit aircrew flight equipment.
Perform aircrew flight equipment continuation training.
Monitor accountability of equipment, forecast for new equipment purchase and research emerging technologies to support the mission.
Maintain and update government furnished regulations, publications and directives.
Ensure unit aircrew flight equipment is serviceable and in operational condition, as required.
Ensure Aircrew Flight Equipment inventory is in compliance with TCTO or other applicable guidance.
Comply with unit guidance regarding use of inventory management tools and procedures.
Facilitate training by assisting reception and bed down efforts prior to and during unit-led training activities.
Issue and receive aircrew flight equipment required for training and operational mission events.
Following training and operational events, ensure equipment items are inventoried, restocked, resupplied and ready for subsequent training or mission events.
Education and Work Experience
Basic Qualifications:
Previous experience as Air Force Specialty Code 1P051, 2T350 (or other service equivalent). Possess a working knowledge of inspection and repack of aerial delivery packages, advanced parachute systems, and aircrew flight equipment associated with the Guardian Angel mission.
Preferred Qualifications:
Previous experience as Air Force Specialty Code 1P071, 2T370 or other Service equivalent.
Additional Qualifications:
A strong ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing. This includes the ability to prepare and present briefings, papers, and presentations to senior leaders in the military and interagency. An ability to interact with military, contractors, and interagency personnel to build teams and maintain good working relationships.
The ability to work independently to plan and complete assignments on time. The products are thorough, logical, meet objectives, and are grammatically correct.
The ability to analyze complex problems and develop and articulate recommended plans and objectives that lead to resolution within existing policy or instruction guidance.
The ability to understand and articulate orally and in writing the consequences (intended and unintended) in advance of actions or decisions.
The ability to conceptualize, develop, and present mission-specific training or orientation courses for military personnel.
The ability to produce high quality products and provide high quality recommendations that are consistent with a fiscally constrained mission environment.
Clearance:
Active Secret clearance or have initiated the process to obtain a Secret Clearance within six months of contract award and must maintain the level of security required for the duration of the contract.
