The Opportunity:
Our CACI office in Orlando, Florida has an immediate need for a Manufacturing Engineering Manager. The Manufacturing Engineering Manager, under limited direction, will manage the manufacturing engineers who are responsible to develop and maintain production processes for space qualified laser-based electro-optical product lines.
Responsibilities:
Provide vision, leadership and direction in the development of CACI strategic initiatives to address the emerging need for Photonics Solutions
Foster an entrepreneurial culture by leading and developing a team grounded in strong work ethic, dedication, and passion for intellectual curiosity
Production engineering staff leadership and oversight, to include selection, performance management, career development, and workload management
Provide leadership and direction as an active member of the manufacturing senior staff in the development of strategic initiatives and support the Manufacturing Manager.
Drive and support AS9100 initiatives and quality objectives
Lead and support equipment and facilities expansion
Implement process capability monitoring and improvement, to include the use of statistical process control
Provide direction in problem solving, product or process characterization, process efficiency improvements and continuous improvement activities
Drive optimization of products for improved manufacturability, cycle time and cost reductions
Work with design team to ensure Design for Manufacturing (DFM) is incorporated into future products such that they successfully pass a manufacturing readiness review prior to low-rate initial production
Responsible for all aspects of the manufacturing engineering budgets, schedules and resource planning
Travel to other CACI Locations or customer sites, as necessary (< 10% Travel)
Perform other duties, as required
Able to obtain/retain a government security clearance at the level required to perform the job
Qualifications:
Required:
Proven experience leading a team of highly skilled manufacturing and test engineers
Developed manufacturing labor and material proposals in compliance to DFAR regulations.
Ability to lead all team members though the process of solving manufacturing and test engineering issues
Proven ability to influence design for manufacturing changes
Proven ability to prepare and present Manufacturing & Test Readiness Reviews
Proven ability to prepare and present Manufacturing Readiness Assessments (MRAs) and MRL questionnaires in compliance to DOD MRL Deskbook standards
Experience with ensuring engineering designs are compatible with manufacturing operation tools (i.e. MRP)
Performed Employee Performance appraisals
Knowledgeable in strategic planning for production efforts
Performed capacity planning for product lines
Thorough understanding of high volume electro-optical manufacturing and test concepts
Knowledgeable in AS9100
Highly self-motived with the ability to drive projects to completion
Strong oral and written presentation skills
Ability to lead, as well as work independently in a team environment
Experience in the development of new product from concept to production
Well versed in utilizing all Microsoft software applications (Excel, PowerPoint, Visio)
Minimum 10 years of experience managing complex DOD production projects
Four year engineering degree (BS) from an accredited college
Ability to work in office full time
Driving innovative solutions to technical problems.
Able to navigate technical issues under significant schedule pressure.
Desired:
In depth knowledge of complex photonics manufacturing
Knowledge of production test set and software development techniques
Well versed in Lean Manufacturing with certification preferred
Familiar with Root Cause and Corrective Action (RCCA), risk management and change management processes
Skilled in applying analytical and statistical tools such as Mini Tab, FRACAS and DOE
Experience with Earned Value management
Experience applying learning curves to labor proposals
Able to interpret and execute upon complex MS Project schedules
Knowledge in Manufacturing Resource Planning (MRP) and product realization
Hands on experience with Photonics manufacturing/test equipment and tooling design
Understands Defense Federal Acquisition Regulations
Holds an MBA

The proposed salary range for this position is:
$85,000 - $178,600
