Job Description:
L3Harris is seeking a highly skilled Level 5 Systems Engineer with specialized experience in cryptographic modem technology to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in designing, developing, and integrating secure communication systems with an emphasis on modem technology. This role requires U.S. citizenship due to defense contract requirements as well as an active security clearance.
Essential Functions:
Apply Agile methodologies to support iterative design, development, and testing processes.
Develop and maintain software documentation/Contract Data Requirements List (CDRLs) including Software Development Plan (SDP), Software Requirements Specification (SRS), Software Design Description (SDD), Software Version Description (SVD), and Software Verification Test (SVT).
Prepare software review packages for System Requirements Review (SRR), Software Design Review (SDR), Preliminary Design Review (PDR), and Critical Design Review (CDR).
Execute system-level tests and evaluations to verify performance, identify issues, and propose solutions.
Develop and maintain software release pipelines to enhance system deployment efficiency.
Design system architecture, requirements, and specifications that align with customer needs and technical constraints.
Lead Peer Reviews and Table-Top Reviews to ensure quality and coherence.
Collaborate with the technical team to identify, mitigate, and resolve program risks.
Demonstrate excellent verbal and written communication skills in a technical information environment; interact, anticipate, and respond to customer needs.
Required Qualifications:
Bachelor's Degree (Electrical, Mechanical, Computer, Software or Systems Engineering (or similar technical discipline) and minimum 9 years of prior relevant experience. Graduate Degree and a minimum of 7 years of prior related experience. In lieu of a degree, minimum of 13 years of prior related experience.
Preferred Additional Skills:
Minimum of 9 years of related experience (or 7+ years with a master's degree)
Comprehensive understanding of NSA Certification processes for Cryptographic Communication devices, including software development and testing.
Knowledge of Key Management Systems such as Electronic Key Management System (EKMS) and Key Management Infrastructure (KMI), and their implications on the design of End Cryptographic Units (ECUs).
Proficiency in using IBM Rational DOORS for requirements management.
Hands-on experience with embedded C/C++ development, including integration and debugging tasks.
Familiarity with DevOps tools such as Jira, Bitbucket, Jenkins, and Confluence.
