We are currently seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Network Engineer to join our team, contributing to vital projects at the Naval Surface Warfare Center, Panama City Division (NSWC PCD).
Position Overview: The Senior Network Engineer will play a critical role in designing, developing, and testing network infrastructure to. This position requires a blend of technical expertise, creativity, and a deep understanding of both traditional and emerging network technologies. The successful candidate will be responsible for transforming complex requirements into effective, secure network-based solutions.
Key Responsibilities:
Lead the design and development of robust network architectures that support Navy program's needs.
Configure and manage Cisco network technologies, including routing, VLANs, voice, and firewall configurations.
Deploy and maintain Cisco Firepower Threat Defense appliances and manage the Cisco Firepower Management Center.
Design and implement both licensed and unlicensed wireless networks, including mesh and point-to-point technologies.
Install, configure, and maintain security sensors, Linux and Windows servers, and utilize VMWare for virtualization needs.
Administer DOD computer systems, employing VBS or Powershell scripting and managing Microsoft Active Directory.
Collaborate with cybersecurity teams to ensure network infrastructure aligns with security best practices and compliance requirements.
Conduct thorough testing and troubleshooting of network systems, documenting all processes and findings.
Requirements:
Minimum of nine (9) years of experience in network design, development, and testing.
In-depth knowledge of Cisco network technologies and the ability to transform requirements into network-based solutions.
Must possess either a CCNA certification with five years of experience or a CCNP certification with five years of experience.
Proven experience with Cisco Firepower Threat Defense appliances and Cisco Firepower Management Center.
Expertise in designing and managing both licensed and unlicensed wireless networks.
Familiarity with security sensors, Linux and Windows servers, VMWare, and DOD computer systems administration.
Proficient in VBS or Powershell scripting and experienced in managing Microsoft Active Directory.
U.S. citizenship and the ability to obtain and maintain a DOD security clearance.
