What you'll be doing:
As a Floor Technician you will help to maintain the cleanliness of the CDC Chamblee location, the leading national public health institute of the United States. You'll also provide daily restorative cleaning of floors in the facilities. The position entails manual labor and operation of various mechanical and powered cleaning equipment (buffers, wax strippers, etc.).
You'll also:
Remove wax build-up from baseboard, corners and edges of floors.
Strip or scrub and refinish appropriate floor surfaces.
Scrub ceramic floor tile areas.
Wash walls with detergent germicide or neutral cleaner.
Remove spots from carpet and/or upholstery.
Extract dirt from carpet and/or upholstery.
Dust mop, damp mop and burnish appropriate floor surfaces.
Comply with all safety policies and procedures.
Maintain a safe work environment for customers and employees.
Maintain and clean equipment.
Notify supervisor or lead custodian of equipment needing repair and/or replacement.
Follow all work procedures and standards according to the quality management system.
Compliance with company policies and procedures.
Police all areas in addition to common areas.
Requirements:
High school diploma or equivalent required.
Knowledge or experience in floor care and/or related field desired.
Available for shift work.
Ability to maintain a positive demeanor while engaged in repetitive tasks.
Ability to establish and maintain working relationships with supervisor and other workers.
Ability to lift 50 pounds or more routinely.
