The Position
Under the direction of an assigned supervisor or instructor, assist in the operation of a theater and construction of sets; operate and maintain lights and sound equipment; provide work direction to students and volunteers.

Major Responsibilities
TYPICAL DUTIES INCLUDE :
Assist in the design and fabrication of sets, costumes and props.
Maintain, clean and repair equipment and tools, lighting and sound equipment and musical instruments.
Assist in rigging, lighting, sound effects, stage carpentry and set construction.
Inventory, store, receive, issue and check tools, lighting, equipment, costumes, lumber, makeup, hardware and paints
Maintain files and records.
Direct theater students and volunteers in the safe operation and use of the theater, tools and equipment.
Assist with box office duties, including cash security and ticket printing.
Perform duties related to audience hospitality, including ticket taking and concessions.
Qualifications
REQUISITE TRAINING AND EXPERIENCE AND ABILITIES INCLUDE :
Knowledge of basic principles of stage productions, carpentry, painting, electrical set ups, lighting, rigging and sound systems. Ability to operate hand and power tools, communicate effectively and establish and maintain effective working relationships. Experience and training in set construction, theater operations and maintenance of stage equipment and materials.

SELECTED CANDIDATE IS REQUIRED TO COMPLETE THE FOLLOWING PRIOR TO EMPLOYMENT :
Provide a Certificate of Tuberculosis Exam for initial appointment (Note: The certificate must be renewed every 4 years as a condition of continuing employment);
Have fingerprints taken by a Live Scan computer at the district's expense (Clearance must be received prior to first day of employment); AND
Present original documents for proof of eligibility to work in the United States.
