GENERAL DESCRIPTION
This position is for a Modeling and Simulation SME that represents PLEXSYS supporting the Marine customer on site at various Marine locations. SME responsibilities include system administration duties such as set up, configuration, networking, and integration of internal and external products in support of Marine exercises. The SME will coordinate with the training audience and provide input towards creating exercise scenarios using PLEXSYS software to support measurable training objectives. The SME will train the customer on the use of PLEXSYS software and accurately interpret customer use case needs to PLEXSYS product features. Additional duties include troubleshooting, developing, updating, and maintaining customer databases and scenarios. The SME will also assist with timely resolution of customer inquiries and product issues.
DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
Knowledgeable and proficient on the use of PLEXSYS products
Demonstrate how to use software UI features and functionality and explain customer use cases
Provide technical support for fielding and new operator training when product software is delivered to Marine Corps units
Interpret customer needs and explain them to engineers and project managers to aid in the development, testing, and analysis of PLEXSYS product modifications/upgrades to meet Marine Corps training requirements
Assist with training customers on the operational use of PLEXSYS products
Assist with writing checklists, training materials, reports and other documentation
Attend planning conferences and meetings at the resident site and various geographical locations
Aid in the development of scripted, scenario-based, Force/Joint level C2 events as part of the master scenario events list (MSEL) designed to generate training audience activity
Participate in and conduct reviews and structured rehearsals of exercise design and training events, operation orders, and plan command level battle rhythm events.
Collect and conduct analysis of modeling and simulation processes to determine information exchange requirements for Marine exercises.
Provide synthetic training program expertise and advice to the MACCS commanders and staff, as well as utilize C4I systems including Theater Battle Management System (TBMCS), Command and Control Personal Computer (C2PC), Army Field Artillery Tactical Data Systems (AFATDS), Joint Range Extension (JRE) and Air Defense Systems Integrator (ADSI) in support of exercises, events and daily tasks
Represent PLEXSYS in a professional manner during presentations and exercises
Assist with interfacing PLEXSYS products with third party software, including real-world systems
Ability to use critical thinking to process information and resolve issues quickly
Ability to work independently, with very little guidance and make sound decisions
Assist working through complex situations and provide customers solutions
Ability to apply PLEXSYS business model during customer interactions
Interpret complex information and communicate it clearly and concisely, in general terms
Interpret network diagrams and understand connectivity between participants
Assist customers seeking technical assistance online, over the phone, or via email
Use of diagnostic tools during troubleshooting to help determine the best solution based on details provided by customers
REQUIREMENTS
Associate degree and 4-7 years of military command, control, communications, computer, intelligence, surveillance and reconnaissance (C4ISR) experience, an understanding of datalink operations, airspace control and battle management of friendly air, ground, and maritime forces
Experience with Navy and Marine Corps amphibious training operations, policy, doctrine, systems, and staff procedures
Experience with Microsoft Office products; Word, Access and Excel
Ability to manage work hours as necessary to support extended days in support of 24/7 continuous operations during events
DESIRABLE
Hands on experience with modeling and simulation systems and a basic understanding of how aircraft, weapons, and surveillance systems are used in modeling and simulation
Possesses detailed and functional knowledge of the Marine Corps and joint/combined planning process, as well as Marine Corps and joint doctrine related to C2, and the Marine's Corps six functions of Marine Aviation
Understanding of how to integrate modeling and simulation applications
Basic familiarity with computer components and ability to diagnose hardware issues
Basic understanding of networking
AUTHORITY
Security Clearance: Ability to obtain Secret Clearance or above
