Under general direction with limited review, this position is responsible for the planning, and administration of acquisition logistics strategies, processes, and tools.
Ensures that customer support requirements and objectives are achieved within budget and on schedule.
Ensures there is continuous improvement of standard acquisition logistics processes such as the iterative process of supportability analysis to influence system design and development in the areas of maintenance, troubleshooting, personnel, training, technical manuals, facilities, support equipment, operation, and disposal/recycling.
Also supports acquisition logistics planning and database development processes, product support and replenishment systems, product support data interchange systems, demand management and related functions.
Participates in building relationships with customers through acquisition logistics initiatives.
Integrates learning from customers, competitors, other industries, industry groups, and professional training to continuously improve competitive position.
Documents findings, communicates results to technical staff and management, and makes presentations of recommendations.
May lead a team of less experienced professional staff.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Plans acquisition logistics strategies, and establishes standard acquisition logistics processes and tools.
Monitors contract acquisition logistics activities for compliance with standard processes.
Coordinates acquisition logistics activities for selected projects to develop and implement solutions that account for tradeoffs in component/system design, repair capability, training, demand history, statistical distributions, and queuing theory.
Develops acquisition logistics analysis products.
Also develops technical manuals, provisioning data and obsolescence screening.
Performs research, evaluation, and analysis to develop complete acquisition logistics support programs.
Compiles and evaluates test data to determine appropriate limits and variables for process or material specifications.
Plans projects involving definition and selection of new concepts, and approaches in the processing or development of new or improved processes to improve life cycle support costs.
Identifies acquisition logistics issues and participates in developing solutions to a variety of complex acquisition logistics problems to optimize costs and system performance requirements.
Participates in progress planning and review sessions to discuss costs, schedule, and technical performance.
Contributes to contract negotiations and contract modifications.
May contribute to the preparation of proposals, business plans, proposal work statements and specifications, operating budgets, and financial terms/conditions of contract(s).

Job Qualifications:
Typically requires a bachelor's degree and six or more years of progressive acquisition logistics management experience. Equivalent applicable experience may be substituted in lieu of education.
Experience developing acquisition logistics products like Maintenance Task Analysis (MTA), Level of Repair Analysis (LoRA, Spares Analysis, Provisioning Analysis, Support Equipment Candidates List (SECL), Packaging, Handling, Storage & Transportation (PHS&T) Plan, and Support Equipment Requirements Data (SERD).
Must have a thorough understanding of acquisition logistics management concepts and principles and have proven experience broadly applying those concepts.
Must possess:
The ability to contribute to the development of new processes or systems and communicate new concepts.
The ability to identify issues, analyze and interpret data and develop innovative solutions to a variety of unusually complex acquisition logistics issues, including Logistics Management Information (LMI), reliability and maintainability, and life-cycle support activities.
Good analytical, verbal, and written communication skills to accurately document, report, and present findings to a variety of audiences including senior management and senior external parties.

SLICwave Life Cycle or Eagle Database to perform a Maintenance Task Analysis (MTA).
Haystack Gold Database, Federal Logistics Data, or Public Logistics Data to research parts.
OPUS Suite - Analytic Life Cycle Management Software or other Spares Modeling Software to predict and analyze the performance and costs of technical systems.
Computerized Optimization Model for Predicting and Analyzing Support Structures (COMPASS) Software to perform a Level of Repair Analysis (LORA).
Ability to obtain and maintain a DoD Security Clearance is required.
