SUMMARY:
Lead a Multi-Discipline Engineering team in the technical definition and integration support for our Advanced Mission Studies (AMS) group. The AMS team is a federation of Subject Matter Experts responsible for conceiving, designing, and planning complex space missions including space and ground elements, coordinates with Strategic Development efforts to focus product development on emergent missions, and determine industry partners. Develop and manage the enterprise level technical baseline effort using digital engineering tools including Model Based System Engineering (MBSE) tools for requirements, behaviors, architecture, and interface specifications, requirements tools such as DOORS. Guide the establishment of partnerships/ relationships at all levels of leadership within the organization. Interact with Mission Partners across the Commercial, Civil, and DOD communities. Specific tasks Include but are not limited to:
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Leading recurring meetings to establish cross architecture level trade studies and developing common interoperable architectures across the various mission space
Expertise in satellite bus design, autonomous on board fault management design, requirements development and verification, functional and environmental testing, and on-orbit operations
Recommend, develop, and integrate enterprise concepts and recommendations to capitalize on cross best practices, efficiencies and standardization
Provide feasibility Studies and Concept Exploration
Develop engineering products and documentation including Design Reference Missions, Verification Plans, Operations Support Plans, MBSE products
Develop and configuration manage Interface Control Documents
Assess, align, and integrate programmatic considerations and provide technical support to Planning, Programming, Budgeting, and Execution
Develop and document logistics goals, objectives, services, and programs, as well as the individual needs in order to meet mission requirements

Job Qualifications:
Typically requires a bachelors degree, masters degree or PhD in engineering or a related technical discipline from an accredited institution and progressive engineering experience as follows; eighteen or more years of experience with a bachelors degree, sixteen or more years of experience with a masters degree, or thirteen or more years with a PhD. May substitute equivalent engineering experience in lieu of education.
Experience leading teams in the development of complex enterprise level system engineering products and the integration of systems-of-systems.
Expertise in satellite constellation establishment, maintenance and contingency resolution; simulation of attitude control system dynamics, satellite power systems and space environmental effects
Strong writing, editing, analytical and team facilitation skills
Expertise in payload instrument design, construction and calibration; mission data analysis
Ability to interact with senior department of defense and other government officials as well as defense contractors at all levels
Strong background in Aerospace, Mechanical or Electrical engineering, math and/or physics.
Working knowledge of IT infrastructure, software development, and hardware development process.
Experience with test, analysis, and/or experimentation of space systems or military systems including space operations
Familiarity with Model Based System Engineering
A Top-Secret DoD Security Clearance is required
The ability to obtain and maintain a SCI Clearance is required
