Job Description:
Reporting to the Systems Center of Excellence Lead, this person is responsible for the management and leadership of technical programs out of Valencia, CA office. This individual is responsible for overseeing the full system/product development life cycle.
Essential Functions:
Provides technical project management and leadership for Surface and Airborne Acoustic Systems activities.
Supports engineering execution within the business area (cost, schedule, technical)
Ensures readiness for design reviews within business area.
Ensures engineering initiatives are adopted within the business area.
Acts as an advisor to technical staff members to help resolve technical, operational, or schedule problems
Partners with key functional leaders in addressing cross-functional process interdependencies. Documents objectives, cross-functional intersections, execution steps and escalation protocols
Leads new product development and technical innovation
Supports Segment System Engineering in process improvement, performance and quality metrics, training and new initiative rollout.
Drives detailed IRAD planning, monthly status, and change process
Engineering POC for IRAD accomplishments, issues, highlights, weekly status within the business area
Supports new business pursuits and proposal cost reviews to ensure proper technology readiness, Design to Cost and resource alignment
Supports and reviews engineering estimates and proposal inputs
Advocates for continuous learning and provides development through training, cross-training and mentoring
Be responsible for developing, monitoring, and controlling technical aspects of programs to schedules and budgets and act as an advisor to technical staff members to resolve issues.
Serve as a Control Account Manager over large segments of major programs
Qualifications:
Bachelor's Degree and minimum 9 years of prior relevant experience,
or Graduate Degree and a minimum of 7 years of prior related experience,
or in lieu of a degree, minimum of 13 years of prior related experience.
Ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. DoD Security Clearance.
In-depth knowledge of project management and systems engineering philosophies
Manages large, complex project initiatives of substantial importance to the organization with minimal oversight or direction.
Communicates within and outside of the organization to explain and influence changes to practices, processes and approaches.
Provides input into new products/processes and implements operational plans that have measurable impact on business or functional results.
Familiarity with cost-based accounting systems. Ability to perform financial analysis of projects and cost estimating. Experience working as a Control Account Manager.
Ability to travel up to 25%.

In compliance with pay transparency requirements, the salary range for this role is $122,500 - $227,500. This is not a guarantee of compensation or salary, as final offer amount may vary based on factors including but not limited to experience and geographic location.
