Job Description:
Subject matter expert with comprehensive knowledge of job area and in-depth knowledge of project management across multiple skillsets and leadership talents. Manages large, complex project initiatives of substantial importance to the organization with minimal oversight or direction. Communicates within and outside of the organization to explain and influence changes to practices, processes and approaches. Makes significant improvements in processes, systems, or products. Provides input into new products/processes and implements operational plans that have measurable impact on business or functional results. Proficient with Earned Value Management System approach to program management, and skilled at interpreting and applying resultant information.
Essential Functions:
Directs all phases of programs from inception through completion. Drives program execution in order to achieve key business and financial objectives for orders, revenue recognition, operating income, and free cash flow for new, continuing, or current programs. Responsible for the cost, schedule and technical performance of company programs or subsystems of major programs.
Participates in the negotiation of contract and contract changes. Coordinates the preparation of proposals, business plans, performance Statement of Work (SOW) and specifications, operating budgets and financial terms/conditions of contract.
Acts as primary customer contact for program activities, leading program review sessions with customer to discuss cost, schedule, and technical performance.
Establishes design concepts, criteria and engineering efforts for product research, development, integration and test. Expands the product line with the customer.
Establishes milestones and monitors adherence to master plans and schedules, identifies program problems and obtains solutions, such as allocating resources or changing contractual specifications.
Directs the work of employees assigned to projects from technical, manufacturing and administrative areas.
Performs other duties, as assigned.
Ability to travel 25% of the time.
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree a minimum of 12 years of experience or post-graduate degree and 10 years of experience.
Prior proposal management, program management, and EVMS experience.
Ability to obtain Department of Defense (DoD) Security Clearance.
Preferred Additional Skills:
Department of Defense (DoD) Secret Clearance.
Demonstrated ability to present to executives/management on important topics.
Demonstrated ability to work independently, identify problems, and propose solutions.
Demonstrated ability to work cross-functionally, across geographically-disbursed teams.
Prior experience providing instructional training to program team(s).
Knowledge of Business Intelligence (BI) tools such as Tableau, PowerBI, etc.
Knowledge of the Business Acquisition Process (BAP).
