to join our Team in San Diego, CA .
Position Responsibilities
A Full-Time position as a Submarine Forward Electronics Support Technician providing assistance to submarines within the Southwest Regional Maintenance Center cognizance. The successful candidate shall provide support as primary Subject Matter Expert (SME) for Submarine Navigation/IC/ET systems and equipment. As a system and equipment specialist the duties will include, but not be limited to the following:
Troubleshooting and maintenance techniques in all areas of Submarine Navigation Equipment.
Troubleshooting and maintenance techniques in all areas of Submarine Interior Communications systems and equipment.
Troubleshooting and maintenance techniques in all areas of Submarine Electronic Displays, Communications systems and equipment.
Provide technical assistance to maintain these systems and associated equipment, including procurement, installation, at-sea testing, preventive and corrective maintenance, and management.
Planning, implementing, and executing technical projects and programs for the Submarine Navigation/IC/ET systems and equipment.
Interface with the In Service Engineering Agent (ISEA), system program offices and other government agencies and contractors.
Directing repairs for submarine Navigation/IC/ET systems and equipment.
Positions Requirements
High School Diploma or equivalent
Minimum 10 years related experience with submarine Forward Electronics and associated components
Ability to obtain and maintain a SECRET security clearance
Ability to troubleshoot and assess various pieces of Navigation/IC/ET and associated systems
Ability to communicate well with superiors and peers
Ability to read technical manuals and repair standards
Ability to work well on their own with minimal supervision
Proficient in use of related computer program/systems, Microsoft Office applications.
Physical Requirements:
Frequent standing, sitting, walking, handling, feeling with hands, reaching with arms.
Regular Communication (hearing and speaking).
Occasional stooping, kneeling, crouching, and lifting of heavy objects.
Ability to go aboard ships, barges and other naval craft.
Ability to move in narrow and restricted passageways, up/down steep and narrow ladders or stairways onboard submarines.
Ability to lift, carry and move objects up to 50 lbs in weight.
Industrial, shop environment.
