We have a new opportunity for an Unified Communications & Collaboration Network Engineer - Top Secret clearance position based in Springfield, VA. This position is required to be onsite. This position will require an active DoD TS/SCI clearance and the ability to obtain and maintain a Counterintelligence (CI) Polygraph.
The Unified Communications and Collaboration (UCC) engineer is the primary SME responsible for the software, services, and hardware that make up the enterprise's unified communications and collaboration capabilities. The engineer will work with the networking and end-user support team and will provide enterprise WAN and user support as time allows.
Responsibilities
Building, implementing, operating, and maintaining the organization's suite of collaboration tools including Cisco Unified Communications Manager, Cisco Telepresence Management Suite, Cisco Unity Connection, Cisco Meeting Server, VQ Conference Manager, Instance Messaging and Presence, and associated end-user collaboration applications.
Providing operations and maintenance support to enterprise networking services and devices including Cisco products, networking devices, and other integrated systems and components.
Monitoring UCC system, tools, and network statuses, optimizing system performance, conducting troubleshooting, and remediating issues.
Maintaining UCC components by tracking product upgrades and services requirements and coordinating patching events with the IT operations team.
Drafting Requests for Changes (RFC) and analyzing requests submitted by IT counterparts.
Developing system documentation including diagrams, topology charts, standard operating procedures, build guides, and capacity/performance plans.
Developing presentations, briefing CIO governance boards, and reporting statuses/updates to senior CIO leadership.
Qualifications
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
Shall have 5 or more years of progressive and increasingly complex experience supporting an enterprise WAN as a UCC or network administrator/engineer.
Demonstrated, hands-on proficiency and expertise in the following areas:
Deploying, troubleshooting, and maintaining Cisco's Unified Communications Manager, Telepresence Management Suite, Unity Connection, Meeting Server, Instant Messaging & Presence, IP phones, and endpoints.
Applying Government standard security configurations based on SRGs and STIGs.
Developing technical documentation, such as standard operating procedures, topology charts, reports, presentations, and design documents.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to articulate new ideas and concepts to technical and nontechnical audiences, as well as senior-level executives.
Desired Qualifications:
Possesses a collaboration certification (i.e., Cisco Certified Specialist - Collaboration Core, CCNP Collaboration, CCNA Voice, CCNA Collaboration).
Demonstrated experience with administering and troubleshooting Cisco-based hardware, operating systems (IOS, NX-OS, ACI, etc.), access control lists, tools, services, and technologies (ex. BGP, EIGRP, LACP. HSRP, OSPF, PC QoS, STP, VPC, VRF).
Demonstrated knowledge and experience in the following areas:Working with secure encrypted networking devices (TACLANEs, BorderGuards), communication circuits, protocols, and configurations.
Working with Cisco data center networking technologies and solutions.
Utilizing scripting languages and tools to deploy automated playbooks and solutions.
CSWF: Operate and Maintain > Network Operations Specialist > Intermediate Level
Education: Bachelor's degree from an accredited University; or
Certifications:
Cisco Certified Specialist - Collaboration Core; or
CCNP Collaboration or
CCNA Voice; or
CCNA Collaboration
Skills & Technology Used:
Progressive and increasingly complex experience supporting an enterprise WAN as a UCC or network administrator/engineer.
Demonstrated, hands-on proficiency and expertise in the following areas: Deploying, troubleshooting, and maintaining Cisco's Unified Communications Manager, Telepresence Management Suite, Unity Connection, Meeting Server, Instant Messaging & Presence, IP phones, and endpoints Service Desk/Tier 1 experience across a geographically-dispersed IT Enterprise.
Possesses a collaboration certification (i.e., Cisco Certified Specialist - Collaboration Core, CCNP Collaboration, CCNA Voice, CCNA Collaboration
Strong communications, written, reporting, and interpersonal skills.
