The DoDIN Joint Warfighter Capabilities Department (N242) mission is to enable DoD technology & information superiority through a work program that is focused on providing rapid & resilient cloud capabilities, modernizing legacy C2 & communications, and ensuring spectrum superiority across our sponsors. We are seeking a Deputy Project Leader (DPL) for our Defense Counterintelligence Security Agency (DCSA) Project. DCSA is central to the integrated security enterprise the U.S. Government needs to effectively counter increasingly more sophisticated and aggressive threats to national security. They are developing whole-of-government, innovative approaches to counter cyber-attacks, insider threats, and foreign ownership, control, or influence (FOCI) in industry.
Roles & Responsibilities:
Work closely with the sponsor and DCSA PL to identify critical challenges, define impactful mission outcomes, influence stakeholder decisions, provide actionable recommendations, and deliver data driven technical products and prototypes.
Develop project outcomes aligned to Department, Division and Corporate goals, while ensuring collaboration and partnership across work programs to maximize outcomes and impacts.
Provide overall direction and oversite of technical efforts and ensure quality of data-driven technical products and/or solutions with actionable recommendations.
Provide strong thought/technical leadership to shape the work program and ensure MITRE is addressing the sponsor's most challenging and critical technical issues in coordination with PLs across DoD programs, aligned with Department, Division and MNS Priorities.
Seek out and identify strong technical expertise from within the Department and across MITRE to form a high performing project team.
Work with PL to maintain accurate staff and budget plans.
Contribute to the technical work program in one or more areas.
Basic Qualifications:
Active DoD Secret clearance with the ability to obtain and maintain a Top-Secret clearance
Typically requires a minimum of 8 years of related experience with a Bachelor's degree; or 6 years and a Master's degree; or a PhD with 3 years' experience; or equivalent combination of related education and work experience.
Demonstrated competency in technical fields that are critical to program success (e.g., software engineering, software architecture, legacy modernization, legacy cloud migration, agile software development & acquisition, DevSecOps)
2+ years of experience as a task or project lead
Demonstrated record of technical team leadership
Demonstrated ability to coordinate across tasks
Strong interpersonal skills as well as effective verbal and written communication skills
Motivation to expand knowledge and skills while assuming responsibility
This position requires a 50% hybrid on-site and willingness to travel to sponsor sites (Quantico VA / Ft. Meade, MD) as required.
Preferred Qualifications:
DoD Top Secret clearance
Experience with MITRE platforms such as Black Pearl, SAF, Digital Engineering
Experience with MITRE project leadership tools such as Clarity and MiHub
Track record of innovative thinking
Local to the Metro DC area
