Overview
SOSi is seeking an Italian Language Instructor in Reston, Virginia. The ideal candidate will have a history of providing high level language instruction, lesson development, and assessment.
Essential Job Duties
Language instructors will be expected to deliver proficiency based foreign language instruction to students ranging on a level from 0 to 3 on the Interagency Language Roundtable.
Instructors will be responsible for the full cycle of lesson development/planning, instruction, and student assessment. Instruction will include developing student's skills in speaking, listening, and reading.
Italian Instructors will provide Italian language instruction across proficiency levels, develop, deliver and maintain appropriate lesson plans for beginners, intermediate and advanced classes, facilitate classes that focus on real-world scenarios.
Provide students with constructive feedback, consult and collaborate with customers on organization needs.
Minimum Requirements
Active in scope TS/SCI with Polygraph.
Bachelor's Degree or higher is required.
Minimum of 5 years of experience in the foreign language Instruction.
Candidates must possess native or near native competency in the Italian language.
Candidates must possess excellent English written and verbal communication skills.
Experience in Language Training, assessing student proficiency, developing instructional curricula, integrating current technology and cultural understanding.
Experience in using SharePoint and Microsoft Office.
Preferred Qualifications
Master's degree in English, Foreign Language, or Education.
Overseas experience in the target language, versed multiple teaching methods.
Subject matter expertise in International Relations, Counterterrorism, Economics, Legal/Law, Military, Narcotics, Science & Technology, Literature and Cross-cultural studies are highly desirable.
Work Environment
Travel OCONUS on a TDY basis is a requirement for some of the languages under this program.
Candidates must be able to support the program 24/7 when on travel.
