Description
This position supports the Joint Fires Network (JFN) - This INDOPACOM, OUSD R&E, DARPA and TRMC initiative is designed to accelerate the linking sensors and weapons platforms in times of critical conflict around the globe.
Provide EXPERT support to improve Multi-Domain Joint Command and Control capabilities through the development, deployment and continuous improvement of the JFN system.
Required Skills and Knowledge
Aid the team in delivering continual data feeds to users and monitoring the status of the health of data quality and overall data ingest.
Visualize, interpret, and report data findings in dynamic reports.
Employ a variety of data manipulation and visualization tools to effectively convey current status and historical trends to leadership, users, and data team.
Collaborate with platform, software, and other data engineers to (re)configure data ingestion pipelines to be more reliable.
Comfortable working with data in a variety of formats including Excel, CSV, JSON, and XML.
Support the incident management process to ensure that incidents documented and resolved quickly. Perform root cause analysis to understand and prevent repeated occurrences of data outages.
Develop and maintain software to automate monitoring of real-time feeds and alert for timeliness, volume, lineage, and distribution data issues. Process learnings and rely on historical data pipelines, translating them into actionable steps to improve data ingest.
Support the design, development, testing and implementation of web-based collaboration tools & platforms for data reporting.
Demonstrate proficiency with frequently used scripting language such as Python (primary) or Bash, commonly used in data science applications and data analytics.
Proficient in open-source analytics and interactive visualization web applications for monitoring systemperformance.
Qualifications
Desired Skills and Knowledge
Experience with Intelligence and Command & Control (C2) datasets including, but not limited to, ELINT, COMINT, MASINT, and GEOINT.
Knowledge in data mining, data modeling, statistics, and machine learning to extract and analyze information from structured and unstructured datasets to support continuity of operations objectives.
Familiar with deploying, managing, and supporting container management via Kubernetes clusters.
Tools
Personal Computer (PC) based systems and project related test equipment.
Apps/Platforms: Docker/Podman, Kubernetes, Helm, NiFi, Kafka, Grafana, Prometheus, InfluxDB, PowerBI.
Operating Systems: Windows, Linux (RedHat).
Essential Physical Tasks
Ability to use a personal computer, keyboard, and mouse on a consistent basis.
Occasional travel by automobile or airplane 10%-25% of the time.
Written Communication
Operates standard computer-based business tools (including but not limited to Microsoft Word and Excel) effectively.
Demonstrates excellent (clear and concise) written communication skills in a technical format that will support in the development of all required plans and reports required by the program.
Verbal Communication
Active communicator - able to present technical briefs, giving full attention to what other people are saying, taking time to understand the points being made, asking questions as appropriate.
Ability to lead discussions pertaining to technical data matters.
Work Experience
Minimum five (5) years of data analysis/engineering.
Minimum two (2) years of general IT support.
Customer Interface Activities
Effective interpersonal and customer service skills required to interface with Warfighters and other engineers.
Ability to effectively communicate with the Customer, command staff, and peer contractor personnel.
Project Management / Staff Supervision Tasks
Ability to manage and prioritize tasks to ensure optimum productivity.
Work Schedule
Full-time on-site.
Ability to work non-standard work hours and schedules in support of project requirements as needed.
Travel
<15%.
Long distance (>500 miles) travel to other US Government and Contractor facilities, as required.
Education
Bachelor of Science required in one of the following fields: Computer Science, Mathematics, Electrical Engineering, Physics, Information Systems, or Information Technology.
Security Clearance
Candidates must have an active TS//SCI clearance. Additional eligibility requirements for access to other levels of classified information as required.
U.S. Citizenship is required.
Target salary range: $120,001 - $160,000. The estimate displayed represents the typical salary range for this position based on experience and other factors.
