We are looking for a Senior Greenhouse Gas and Sustainability Specialist who will provide leadership for a growing practice in the climate change and sustainability field. This position has a strong focus greenhouse gas (GHG) accounting, planning GHG emission reduction opportunities, and assisting federal clients with efforts to advance organizational sustainability. The ideal candidate will have a relevant and strong technical background and expertise in GHG management and sustainability, data management and data management applications, personnel management and leadership skills, and an eye towards work quality and attention to detail, such that they can both manage and provide technical leadership on projects and proposals. This position will be to primarily support a team of project directors in ICF's climate business and has ample opportunity for growth.

What you'll be doing...
Project Management and Execution: Drive successful execution of projects through day-to-day activities, working closely with a team of project directors; understand clients' current and emerging needs and deliver innovative and efficient services. Serve as deputy project manager or task lead. Develop and execute work plans, direct teams of support staff, and perform quality assurance for work products such that they are ready for client delivery with minimal additional editing. The mix of projects and clients will depend on success and is expected to evolve over time. In total, approximately 85% of time will be devoted to project work at the onset.
Program Development Growth: Collaborate with project directors and other colleagues to respond to client needs in the areas of organizational energy and GHG management-including the adoption and use of various software applications.
Providing Subject Matter Expertise: Provide subject matter expertise in areas such as building energy, energy conservation and efficiency, renewable energy, energy management systems, GHG emissions accounting, and GHG emissions reduction measures.

Minimum Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Sustainability, Physical Sciences (e.g., Chemistry, Earth and Atmospheric Sciences, Physics), Engineering (e.g., Mechanical, Electrical), or related subjects AND 5+ years of professional full-time project management work experience with sustainability/emissions reductions projects.

Master's degree in Sustainability, Physical Sciences (e.g., Chemistry, Earth and Atmospheric Sciences, Physics), Engineering (e.g., Mechanical, Electrical), or related subjects AND 3+ years of professional full-time project management work experience with sustainability/emissions reductions projects.
Professional full-time work experience must include:
Experience with building energy management, tracking and reporting building energy performance, and identifying energy conservation measures or similar activities.
Experience with GHG Protocol guidance and experience with Scope 1, 2, and 3 GHG accounting, inventorying, and planning.
Experience with Life-Cycle Assessments, supply chain analyses, and supply chain greenhouse gas accounting. Experience with quality assurance/quality control methods and execution.
Experience building & managing client relationships and managing & delegating work to other employees.
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience with sustainability management, organizational sustainability and reporting.
Experience working for a federal agency on sustainability-related topics.
Outstanding oral and written communication skills; ability to communicate complex energy and climate information to non-scientists to inform decision making processes.
Be organized, detail-oriented, and have the ability to prioritize and manage multiple projects.
Proficiency in applications such as MS Office Applications (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook) and the Google Suite.
Strong familiarity with data analysis and visualization applications such as Tableau, GIS and/ or Microsoft PowerBI.

Pay Range - There are multiple factors that are considered in determining final pay for a position, including, but not limited to, relevant work experience, skills, certifications and competencies that align to the specified role, geographic location, education and certifications as well as contract provisions regarding labor categories that are specific to the position.
The pay range for this position based on full-time employment is:
$63,511.00 - $107,968.00
