Job Description
AECOM is currently seeking a Project Inspector for a Federal Client in the DC Metro Area. This is an onsite position and will start once the project has been won.
Responsibilities include but are limited to the following:
Reviewing and interpreting plans and specifications for completeness, accuracy, and constructability
Field construction inspection and reporting will comprise the majority of the work.
Interaction with clients and contractors requires candidate to have a professional presentation along with excellent communication skills and attention to detail.
The Inspectors will perform the Quality Assurance and other related work for the client and project to which the Inspectors are assigned and will perform all assigned duties during the period indicated.
Daily written reports and electronic (Excel) spreadsheets will be furnished to the Contracting Officer or the Contracting Officer's Representative each day.
It is the Inspector's responsibility to assure that the terms and condition of the plans and specifications are being met.
Additional Responsibilities:
Performs quality assurance and contract administration for construction projects assigned.
Works under supervision of Government and Resident Engineers, who assign responsibilities and delegates authority to make determinations and decisions, e.g., construction progress and pay entitlement, QA and other contract compliance.
Administers on-site safety standards compliance. Resolves unsafe work conditions and practices. Administers the Accident Prevention Plan
Prepares construction modification documents to include sketches and cost estimates. Evaluates impact of modification to schedule. Gathers and evaluates field data.
Evaluates proposals from contractor and makes recommendation to supervisor.
Prepares progress reports. Reviews schedules, shop drawings, submittals and contractor quality control reports. Compare data to project documents for consistency. Initiates corrective action as required.
Evaluates contractor's progress reports for consistency with project progress, material quantities and storage, and man-hours. Prepares and coordinates contractor payment documents utilizing progress reports.
Reports and records significant job progress, critical issues and potential problems. Ensures corrective measures are applied in the field of by elevating problems to appropriate level.
Independently inspects construction work and incoming materials and equipment to determine compliance with contract documents and schedule.
Prepares and transfers contract revisions, material submittals, and as-built information.
Reviews submittals and maintains submittal registry.
Conducts labor interviews with contractor personnel. Checks interview data against payrolls. Enforces compliance with applicable laws.
Qualifications
Minimum Requirements
BA/BS + 8 years of related experience or demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education
Experience with Three Phase Inspections
Vertical building experience
Experience reading and interpreting blueprints, technical drawings, schematics, and plans to understand specifications, tolerances, and design requirements
Proficiency in using various inspection tools and equipment
Experience with inspection software and digital tools, such as Computer-Aided Design (CAD) software, Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) systems, and other data management or inspection-specific software
Expertise in safety protocols, occupational health standards, and compliance regulations related to the specific industry (e.g., OSHA, environmental regulations, fire safety standards)

Offered compensation will be based on location and individual qualifications. The expected range is 93 000,00$ - 125 000,00$.
