Job Description
Maritime Operations within Mission Technologies - Nuclear & Environmental Services, is looking for a Construction Integration Manager - Virginia Class Sub candidate to join the team in Newport News, VA. The role involves supporting Newport News Shipbuilding Submarine Fleet Support and managing the construction integration for new Virginia Class Sub boats. The ideal candidate should possess strong interpersonal skills as they will be responsible for integrating construction and test priorities for the submarines being built at Newport News Shipbuilding.
Essential Job Responsibilities
The role involves overseeing and managing the operational aspects of ongoing projects, acting as a liaison between project management and planning, project team, and line management.
The job responsibilities include reviewing the status of projects and budgets, managing schedules, and preparing status reports.
The candidate is expected to assess project issues and develop resolutions that meet productivity, quality, and client-satisfaction goals and objectives.
Additionally, the candidate will be responsible for developing mechanisms to monitor project progress and intervene and solve problems with project managers, line managers, and clients.
What You Must Have
Candidate is required to have either
Eight (8) years relevant progressive experience with a Bachelors in related field;
Or six (6) years relevant progressive experience with a Masters in related field.
Candidate is required to have the following experience:
Four (4) years of supervisory experience.
Four (4) years of project management experience.
Eight (8) years of technical experience specifically on VCS projects.
Candidate must have a strong technical knowledge of how ship systems operate.
Candidate must have strong interpersonal skills.
Candidate must possess an active secret security clearance.
Candidate must be a U.S. citizen.
Bonus Points For...
Active duty NAVY service on a Virginia Class Sub boat is preferred.
Physical Requirements
Job performance may require working in an industrial or shipboard environment. Normally not required to lift more than 40 pounds higher than three feet above feet/floor level.
