MITRE is seeking a qualified candidate to apply their systems engineering and Army acquisition skills to help advance Intelligence Reconnaissance and Surveillance (ISR) sensors and systems, SIGINT, Electronic Warfare and intelligence operations and technologies. The candidate selected will leverage their systems engineering expertise to provide support across a variety of system development lifecycles, through the design, implementation, testing and integration of enterprise systems and system-of-systems for the Army. The work the successful candidate will engage in will include: Army acquisition support, systems engineering, mission engineering, digital engineering, both offensive and defensive oriented systems and mission projection, designing architectures and mission threads to connect interrelated systems, and leading efforts to better test, integrate and deploy Army ISR sensors, systems, technologies and capabilities. The candidate's skills and knowledge will be applied in direct support of the Army G-2, Intelligence and Security Command (INSCOM), Program Executive Office Intelligence, Electronic Warfare, and Sensors (PEO IEW&S) Headquarters and Program Offices, and Command, Control, Communications, Computers, Cyber, Intelligence, Surveillance, and Reconnaissance Center (C5ISR) Research and Technology Integration.
Roles & Responsibilities:
Advise government program managers in defining the context, problem space and vision to determine capabilities, priorities, road maps, and technology needs using modern system engineering approaches.
Apply systems engineering skills to drive a holistic approach to systems development and design.
Collaborate and work as part of multi-disciplinary teams.
Design architectures and mission threads to connect interrelated systems and lead efforts to better test, integrate, and deploy Electronic Warfare and intelligence systems.
Apply cutting edge methods and tools (such as Model-Based Systems Engineering, Digital Engineering, Machine Learning, Data Analytics) to assess designs, identify, and mitigate performance constraints and gaps, evaluate proposed changes, and support verification and test, to solve problems that make the world a safer place.
Understand the technical gaps, formulate solutions, and help execute research and engineering solutions.
Support the application of emerging technologies across multiple Army domains including wireless communications, space systems and Signals Intelligence (SIGINT).
Provide Program Acquisition support including systems engineering (requirements development and management, design and development phase support, T&E support etc.) and mission engineering support.
Basic Qualifications:
Typically minimum of 10 years of related experience with a Bachelor's degree; or 6 years and a Master's degree; or PhD with 3 years of relevant experience who can immediately contribute at this job step; or equivalent combination of related experience and work experience.
Strong systems engineering skills and familiarity with independent Verification & Validation (V&V) testing.
Knowledge of systems architecture modeling, systems design, and development.
Army acquisition experience, preferably with direct interaction with Program Executive Offices.
Excellent verbal and written communications skills.
Ability to interact with sponsors, including helping to set the project direction, briefing results, and developing and presenting analytically based conclusions and recommendations.
Currently possess a Top-Secret security clearance.
Willingness and ability to spend significant amount of time on-site in Sponsor facilities in Aberdeen, MD.
This position requires a minimum of 50% hybrid on-site presence.
Preferred Qualifications:
Mission knowledge of intelligence operations, the intelligence lifecycle, and intelligence systems.
Thorough understanding and experience with DoD Intelligence, SIGINT or EW systems.
Demonstrated experience in converging solutions to achieve integrated systems solutions.
Hands-on proficiency with standards-based architecture modeling tools.
Ability to lead small teams for analysis and technical development.
