Black River Systems Company, a small, established research-oriented engineering firm headquartered in Utica, NY. We produce high-end Electronic Warfare systems and we are seeking a Technical Sales Associate at our Utica, NY location to market and sell our Electronic Warfare systems to the US Government (USG). This individual must be highly motivated, technically competent and be able to pair our USG customer with a tailored technical solution for their specific needs. Our approach to sales is to be an honest broker, providing data and facts, while educating customers on the employment of our systems in their environments. Technical competency with EW/SIGINT is a plus, as you will be explaining the benefits of our product and services to customers and demonstrating how our product and services are superior to competitors. This role will collaborate with a team that include business development, program management, product development and our USG customer base.Position Requirements: Bachelor's degree in Business, Sales, Marketing, Engineering or related field. 3+ years of DOD/US Govt Sales experience. Ability to navigate the US Govt procurement processes. Ability to develop and implement product sales strategies. Ability to articulate technical capabilities and limitations of Electronic Warfare systems to various audiences (technical and non-technical). Ability to work effectively, independently and closely together with sales team. Solid communication, documentation, and collaborative/teamwork skills. Applicants must have or be eligible for a Department of Defense security clearance.Position Responsibilities: Foster existing customer relationships while continuing to develop new contacts/customers. Contact customers to market new products, system upgrades and annual offerings to keep their systems, sites and environments up to date with capabilities. Follow up on all leads and sales opportunities in an efficient and timely manner. Respond to customers detailed RFI's and RFQ's (Requests for Information and Quotes). Understand and collaborate on procurement contracts, including Terms and Conditions. Develop customer needs/wants and collaborate with product development teams on new/iterative design ideas, including use of market research.
