Job Description:
Parsons is looking for an amazingly talented Lead Tourism Specialist to join our team! In this role you will be responsible for developing and implementing tourism strategies that align with the national objectives and directives of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. The ideal candidate will collaborate with various stakeholders to work to enhance Yanbu's position as a key tourism destination.
Reports to the Director, Commercial & Residential Investment and interacts with closely with government entities, private sector partners, vendors and other relevant stakeholders.
What You'll Be Doing:
Tourism Strategy Development:
Design and implement comprehensive tourism strategies for Yanbu, aligned with Saudi Arabia’s Vision 2030 and national tourism objectives. Develop and execute strategies aligned with global trends and preferences in the tourism industry.
Identify and develop key tourism products and services that highlight Yanbu’s cultural, historical, and natural assets.
Lead the establishment of a Destination Management Organization (DMO) for Yanbu, ensuring the coordination and management of tourism activities, marketing, and stakeholder engagement to enhance the city’s appeal as a premier destination.
Stakeholder Engagement:
Establish and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders, including government agencies, local businesses, tour operators, and other partners.
Collaborate with stakeholders to create initiatives that may boost local and international visitor numbers.
Ensure alignment between local tourism development initiatives and national tourism directives.
Tourism Promotion and Marketing:
Work with the marketing team to develop promotional campaigns to enhance Yanbu's appeal as a tourism destination.
Advocate for investments in tourism infrastructure and facilities in partnership with the private sector and local businesses.
Market Research and Analysis:
Conduct in-depth market research to identify tourism trends, opportunities, and challenges for Yanbu.
Provide regular reports and recommendations to the Business Development Department on potential tourism growth areas.
Tourism Policy and Compliance:
What Required Skills You'll Bring:
Bachelor's (or preferably Master's) degree in Tourism, Business Development, Hospitality, or a related field.
Experience: Minimum of 12 years of experience in tourism development, with a preference for experience in the Middle East or Gulf region.
Strong understanding of Saudi Arabia's Vision 2030 and national tourism policies.
Proven ability to develop and execute tourism strategies that drive growth and sustainability.
Strong strategic planning and project management skills.
Deep knowledge of tourism development practices and trends.
Strong communications, negotiation and relationship-building skills.
Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with a focus on achieving results.
Excellent English communication skills, with Arabic language proficiency being a preferred asset.
