This 12-month Environmental Engineer role offers the opportunity to join a multidisciplinary team of sustainability professionals and contribute directly to product sustainability and circularity initiatives. You will support life cycle assessment studies, environmental product declarations, and circularity assessments within an installation products division, helping to drive measurable improvements in environmental performance and emissions reduction.
Responsibilities
Support the divisional sustainability function by conducting life cycle assessment (LCA) studies, including data collection, inventory development, modeling, and interpretation of results.
Contribute to the environmental product declaration (EPD) program, including data inventory, coordination of verification activities, vendor and stakeholder management, and continuous process improvement.
Assist in the development and execution of circularity assessments for products and manufacturing processes, focusing on sustainable manufacturing and product lifecycle optimization.
Support the regional Scope 1 and Scope 2 emission reduction program by analyzing environmental and carbon footprint data, identifying trends, and contributing to reduction strategies.
Perform detailed data analysis and interpretation to support sustainability reporting and decision-making for product and process improvements.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams in engineering, manufacturing, and sustainability to integrate environmental considerations into product design and operations.
Demonstrate the ability to learn quickly and adapt to a steep learning curve in a dynamic, sustainability-focused environment.
Document methodologies, assumptions, and results clearly to support internal reviews, external verification, and sustainability reporting requirements.
Essential Skills
Bachelor's or Master's degree student in Engineering, preferably with a focus related to environmental engineering, sustainability, or a closely aligned discipline.
Hands-on experience as an Environmental Engineer, Sustainability Engineer, LCA Analyst, or similar role, gained through previous internship or full-time work at manufacturing sites.
Practical experience conducting Life Cycle Assessments (LCA), including data collection, modeling, and interpretation.
Demonstrated ability to perform data analysis and interpretation to support environmental and sustainability conclusions.
Knowledge of environmental and carbon footprint accounting, specifically Scope 1 and Scope 2 emissions.
Experience working with Environmental Product Declarations (EPDs) or sustainability reporting frameworks.
Understanding of manufacturing processes and product lifecycle, including how products are designed, produced, used, and managed at end-of-life.
Familiarity with sustainable manufacturing principles and their application in an industrial context.
Ability to adapt quickly to new tools, methodologies, and concepts in the sustainability and circularity domain.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
Academic or project-based experience in Life Cycle Assessment (LCA) tools and methodologies.
Exposure to sustainability reporting practices and standards through coursework, internships, or prior roles.
Interest in circular economy concepts and their application to product design and manufacturing.
Strong analytical mindset with attention to detail when working with complex environmental and operational data.
Effective communication skills to present findings and collaborate with multidisciplinary teams.
Motivation to work in a sustainability-focused role within a manufacturing and product development environment.

Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $45.00 - $45.00/hr.
