The organization seeks a Data Engineer to build cloud-native data processing for an AWS-based analytics platform. The role will design pipelines and streaming solutions using services such as Glue, Redshift, EMR, and Lambda, and support analytics and ML workloads with QuickSight and SageMaker. The engineer will collaborate across engineering, analytics, and data science teams, and apply DevOps practices for Infrastructure as Code and secure delivery. The work will focus on scalable data integration, API development, and operational excellence in a regulated environment.
Due to client requirements, applicants must be willing and able to work on a w2 basis. For our w2 consultants, we offer a great benefits package that includes Medical, Dental, and Vision benefits, 401k with company matching, and life insurance.
Rate: $90 to $100/hr. w2
Responsibilities:
Develop, enhance, and troubleshoot complex data engineering, data visualization, and data integration capabilities using Python, R, Lambda, Glue, Redshift, EMR, QuickSight, SageMaker, and related AWS services.
Provide technical thought leadership and collaborate with software developers, data engineers, database architects, data analysts, and data scientists to align data processing architecture and services across projects.
Contribute to peer code reviews, database defect support, security enhancements, vulnerability management, and occasional backup production support.
Leverage DevOps skills to build and release Infrastructure as Code, Configuration as Code, software, and cloud-native capabilities following change management guidelines.
Partner with the product owner and engineering leader to align business vision and goals with technology solutions.
Experience Requirements:
7+ years designing and building complex data processing pipelines and streaming solutions.
Experience with big data solution design and tools such as Hadoop and Spark.
Proficiency with relational SQL databases, especially Amazon Redshift.
Hands-on experience with IaC tools such as Terraform, Ansible, or AWS CDK.
Experience with containerization services such as EKS and ECR.
Strong knowledge of AWS services including EC2, S3, RDS, Redshift, Glue, Lambda, Step Functions, SageMaker, QuickSight, Config, Security Hub, and Inspector.
Experience designing, building, and implementing high-performance APIs and programs using architectural frameworks and guidelines.
Proficiency with UNIX/Linux operating systems.
Education Requirements:
Bachelor's degree with a major or specialized courses in Information Technology or commensurate experience.
AWS certifications (preferred).
