The Manager, Executive Protection is part of the Corporate Security Division and plays a critical role in safeguarding American Airlines' most senior leaders. In this role, you'll help shape and expand a maturing executive protection program using an intelligence-driven, risk-based approach while supporting mission-critical operations. You'll also join a highly skilled Protective Services team with the opportunity to influence enterprise-level security strategy and strengthen the organization's overall resilience.

Provide dedicated executive protection support for select Senior Leadership Team (SLT) members based on assessed risk and intelligence-driven prioritization.
Expand security coverage beyond the CEO to additional SLT members, ensuring consistent, high-quality protection aligned with evolving threat environments.
Conduct comprehensive risk assessments, advance planning, and protective operations for travel, events, and daily activities.
Partner with the Protective Services Director and Protective Intelligence Analyst to maintain a proactive security posture through ongoing threat monitoring, analysis, and mitigation.
Support field operations while enabling the Director to focus on enterprise-level program development and the analyst to deepen protective intelligence capabilities.
Build and maintain strong relationships with internal partners, external agencies, and law enforcement to ensure coordinated and effective protective strategies.
Uphold the highest standards of confidentiality, professionalism, and discretion in all interactions and operational activities.
Monitor, assess, and mitigate potential threats using established security protocols and intelligence inputs.
Maintain readiness for rapid schedule changes, emergency situations, and high-priority assignments.
All you'll need for success
Minimum Qualifications - Education & Prior Job Experience
Bachelor's degree in international relations, security/intelligence studies, or a related field.
Possession of relevant executive protection credentials and certifications
5+ years of progressive executive protection experience, including service in law enforcement and/or military environments, as well as experience with international travel for corporate executives, high ranking government officials, VIPs, and/or UHNW individuals.
Proven expertise in protection strategies, tactics, and technology.
Extensive experience with domestic and international travel.
Ability to travel frequently and work non-standard hours, including nights, weekends, and holidays, as required.
Preferred Qualifications - Education & Prior Job Experience
Master's degree in international relations, security/intelligence studies, or a related field.
Experience supporting executive protection programs within a corporate or aviation environment.
Advanced training in protective operations, defensive tactics, emergency response, or threat assessment.
Familiarity with intelligence-driven security models and protective intelligence tools.
Skills, Licenses, and Certifications
Strong situational awareness and decision-making skills.
Excellent written and verbal communication abilities.
Ability to analyze and interpret threat intelligence and risk data.
Proficiency in protective operations, advance planning, and emergency response.
Valid driver's license; ability to obtain additional clearances or credentials as required.
Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to interact effectively with senior executives and external partners.
Proven ability to maintain confidentiality and exercise sound judgment in high-pressure situations.
