The Opportunity
The Senior Analyst, Threat Response & Preparedness supports the Corporate Security function by identifying, assessing, and responding to threats that may impact employees, executives, facilities, operations, and brand reputation within a regulated financial services environment. This role focuses on threat intelligence, incident response coordination, and preparedness planning to ensure timely, measured, and compliant responses to physical, cyber-enabled, and reputational threats.

This role requires reporting to the office three times a week in Charlotte, NC (601 S. Tryon Street)
This role requires up to 25% travel to Ally locations to conduct threat assessments.
The Work Itself
Monitor, analyze, and assess threats relevant to the financial services environment, including workplace violence, insider risk, executive threats, protest activity, travel risk, and facility security concerns.
Support real-time threat response and incident management by coordinating with Corporate Security, Legal, HR, IT/Cybersecurity, Business Continuity, and Communications teams.
Produce comprehensive threat assessments for senior leadership and security management, including executive protection and event security planning as needed.
Maintain and update crisis response playbooks, escalation protocols, and preparedness documentation to address evolving threats.
Participate in tabletop exercises, drills, and post-incident after-action reviews to enhance organizational readiness.
Liaise with external partners such as law enforcement, emergency management agencies, and threat intelligence providers to strengthen threat mitigation efforts.
Track emerging risk trends impacting financial institutions (e.g., activist threats, fraud-related retaliation, geopolitical events) and recommend effective mitigation strategies.
Ensure threat response and preparedness activities comply with regulatory, legal, and corporate governance requirements.
Apply intelligence analysis skills to monitor, assess, and report on security and fraud threats and vulnerabilities, assisting leadership in threat evaluation.
Exercise sound judgment within broadly defined practices and policies to select appropriate methods, techniques, and evaluation criteria.
Research and assess external threat and vulnerability monitoring tools to ensure Ally business lines and enterprise functions have access to the highest value sources.
Contribute to the development of threat models by collaborating with the analytics team.
Participate in threat briefings for impacted business units.
The Skills You Bring
Minimum Qualifications:
3+ years of experience
High School Diploma or GED equivalent
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience with behavioral threat analysis
Familiarity with executive protection, workplace violence prevention, and insider threat programs.
Bachelor's degree in Security Management, Criminal Justice, Emergency Management, Intelligence, Risk Management, or a related field
+3 years of experience in corporate security, threat analysis, intelligence, emergency management, or risk management roles, within financial services or other highly regulated industries preferred.
Up to 25% travel to Ally locations to conduct threat assessments.
Experience supporting incident response in corporate or regulated environments.
Ability to conduct multi-source investigations, collecting and analyzing both qualitative and quantitative data.
Experience with threat intelligence platforms, case management systems, or mass notification tools.
Relevant professional certifications (e.g., CPP, PSP, CEM, CBCP, FEMA ICS training).
Member of the Association of Threat Assessment Professionals (ATAP) or similar organization; ability to acquire ATAP Certified Threat Manager (CTM) certification (education reimbursement may be available).
Familiarity with risk scoring, threat analysis tools, and structured professional judgment methodologies.
Regulatory awareness and understanding of analytical techniques related to security and risk management.
Experience in intelligence collection and analysis, financial investigations, law enforcement or military intelligence, behavioral or physical threat assessment, emergency management, business continuity, financial risk, technology, or operations.
Creative thinking skills and the ability to identify trends and patterns in complex data sets.
Comfortable communicating intelligence findings to both technical and non-technical audiences.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to synthesize intelligence into actionable recommendations.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including experience delivering executive-level briefings.
High degree of discretion and professionalism when handling sensitive or confidential information.
Strong organizational and cross-functional communication skills, with the ability to present findings to key stakeholders.
