Summary You will serve as a SUPERVISORY IT SPECIALIST (PLCYPLN) in the EXPD SURV & TACTICAL SYS of NAVWARSYSCEN PACIFIC SAN DIEGO CA. Responsibilities You will provide leadership, management and supervision to approximately 20 people and is responsible for managing the day-to-day operations of the Expeditionary Surveillance and Tactical Systems Branch You will have knowledge of torpedo management systems and automated imaging and radar systems. You will have experience in the design, development, acquisition and integration of various integrated sensors used for U.S. Navy and foreign navy torpedo management systems and U.S. Army harbor management sensor systems. You will apply knowledge and experience in scientific principles, and project management in the subject matter or functional area for the resolution of problems, development of approaches and settlement of conflicting assignments. You will lead the technical effort of the Branch, including planning, assigning, and directing tasks; setting employees' performance expectations, evaluating employees' contribution for performance purposes; approving leave etc. You will provide administrative support for activities such as fiscal operations, procurement, and personnel management. In addition, approximately 75% of the selectee's work will be personally performed technical work. You will advise, administer, supervise and support Information Technology (IT) systems and provide IT expertise in a lead role on various technical projects within the Division, including equipment design, functionality, maintenance etc. You will manage the implementation of security, and policy management of the RAID Division. Requirements Conditions of Employment Qualifications I have one year of information technology related experience in the federal service or private or public sector demonstrating the following four competencies, as defined: 1. IT-related experience demonstrating this competency include: Selectee will act as an independent evaluator as required to oversee and test potential IT solutions to various project needs. Will manage the implementation of security, and policy management of the RAID Division. Provide training to IT staff, infrastructure design, and maintenance of technology devices utilized by the Division. 4. IT-related experience demonstrating this competency include: Selectee will advise, administer, supervise and support Information Technology (IT) systems and provide IT expertise in a lead role on various technical projects within the Division, including equipment design, functionality, maintenance, and software upgrade planning and implementation. In addition to my experience demonstrating the four competencies above, I have one year of specialized experience equivalent to the next lower grade level GS-11 or pay band NM-03 in the federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector Supports process improvement activities; or assists with collection and analyzing metrics for use in the management and direction of programs; or assists with analyzing and evaluating proposed changes in policy and procedures and communicate impact and contingencies. The pay schedule for all Supervisor Positions will be NM-2/3/4/5/6.
