Job Description:
Inspect products against parts lists, blueprints, specifications, or sample models to ensure accuracy and completeness.
Verify dimensions using appropriate test equipment and procedures.
Identify rejected parts following prescribed methods.
Test products for structural flaws and maintain records on defects and rejected parts.
Conduct inspections based on statistical sampling plans when required.
Assist in training new inspectors/technicians.
Maintain cleanliness and organization of the work area.
Monitor inspections to ensure compliance with processes and testing for quality and reliability.
Suggest improvements to Quality Assurance processes, QAS, and manufacturing practices.
Communicate with the Quality Assurance Team Lead to implement changes to audits/inspections.
Position Requirements:
1-3 years of related experience and/or training, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
Skills & Technical Requirements:
Ability to interpret basic measurement techniques, including reading scales (rulers).
Familiarity with dimensional inspections using calipers and micrometers.
Ability to read and interpret blueprints, including discerning specifications and tolerances, and converting fractions and decimals.
Basic computer skills (Microsoft Office).
Knowledge of inspections, audits, standard operating procedures, and ISO standards is a plus.
Judgment & Problem-Solving Skills:
Ability to analyze problems, collect data, and draw valid conclusions.
Capability to interpret complex technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form.
Strong problem-solving skills in day-to-day situations.
Proficiency in applying mathematical concepts (fractions, percentages, ratios, probability, geometry, and trigonometry) to practical situations.
Education:
One-year certificate from a college or technical school.
