Job Description:
Performs planning functions involved with coordinating products and materials through various production phases with primary goal to meet customer schedules. Reviews schedules to determine materials and parts requirements to ensure materials are available according to schedules. May collect and analyze data and prepare reports including recommendations to meet internal and external demands for materials and finished goods. Expedite flow of materials, parts, and assemblies within or between departments in accordance with production and shipping schedules.
Essential Functions:
Work under general supervision. Less detailed instructions are provided and moderate peer review is required.
Communicates with contacts typically within the department on matters that involve obtaining or providing information requiring explanation or interpretation to understand and reach agreement.
Coordinates with production operators and planners to transport work in process to multiple locations within production facility.
Assists production planner in providing status on Work In Process and updating of electronic reports.
Follows established processes to complete tasks. Identify problems and issues in straightforward situations. Escalate issues to manager for resolution.
Work to achieve operational targets within job area which has some impact on the overall achievement of results for the team. Work is somewhat limited in scope, typically on smaller, less structured task-related activities.
Qualifications:
Requires a High School Diploma or equivalent and a minimum of 6 years of prior relevant experience or 2 years post-Secondary/Associates Degree with a minimum of 2 years of prior related experience.
Preferred Additional Skills:
Ability to lift 35 lbs.
Working knowledge with Manufacturing Execution System (MES), Materials Requirements Planning (MRP or ERP) and Product Data Management (PDM) systems.
Coordinates with production operators and planners to transport work in process to multiple locations within production facility.
Requires developing job knowledge/skills within a manufacturing environment.
Basic computer skills including Microsoft products (Excel, Outlook)
Excellent oral and written communication
