GENERAL JOB SUMMARY:
The Technical Program Manager will have the ability to set direction, perform technical tasks as well as provide technical leadership while carrying out SOW tasks. The Program Manager shall manage and provide leadership for engineering tasks. This includes leading engineering teams which perform the entire range of tasks required to design, develop, and test a wide range of turbomachinery products: concept studies, systems engineering, mechanical design, heat transfer, structures analysis, detailed solid modeling, drawing/documentation for development and production hardware, support hardware make/procurement, assembly and instrumentation activities, and testing. The Program Manager shall be responsible for manpower, budget, schedule, and technical accuracy.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
Lead and manage engineering projects, including budget, schedule, and risk management.
Resolve issues within the project and support groups.
Ensure compliance with all contract requirements and deliverables.
Facilitate customer feedback.
Maintain proper task loads to ensure staff is challenged but not overburdened.
Assist in the development of the task SOW and maintain overall project schedule.
Perform technical activities including design, analysis, manufacturing engineering and/or product development engineering.
Keep team and management informed.
Lead systems engineering activities - identify processes and direct/instruct others.
Work with customers to define and document requirements, address technical concerns, and provide project status.

Required Experience:
Capable of providing technical leadership to a team of engineers.
Knowledge of testing engineering methodology and practices.
Ability to make technical and project-related presentations internally and to customers.
Interface with customers, vendors, and client and government personnel.
Excellent written and verbal communications skills.
Ability to work in a dynamic environment with multiple stakeholders.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
BS/MS/PhD in Engineering.
8+ years' experience in Mechanical or Aerospace engineering.
Turbomachinery experience is required.
2-5 years' experience in program management is strongly preferred.
Candidates with experience in leading teams and/or program management training will also be considered.
WORK ENVIRONMENT/PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
Office and/or manufacturing environment.
Ability to sit and stand for long periods of time.
Ability to perform repetitive motion (keyboarding, mouse, phones, rotating wrist, using tools/equipment).
