PRIMARY OBJECTIVE OF POSITION: Supports Department of Defense organizations with research and development programs, performing a variety of technical services requiring operations or technical knowledge of military Command, Control, Communications, Computer, Cypher, Intelligence, Surveillance and Reconnaissance (C5ISR) systems; electromagnetic detection systems; and electronic countermeasure (ECM) systems. The electromagnetic detection systems may include military and commercial technologies. The ECM systems may include countermeasures for Improvised Explosive Devices (IED), and Radio Controlled IEDs (RCIED).
MAJOR DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
Develop Tactics, Techniques, and Procedures (TTPs) to incorporate compatibility and interoperability with a variety of Special Operations Forces (SOF) handheld, man-packable, and vehicle-borne tactical electromagnetic warfare detection, identification, and exploitation equipment/systems in an expeditionary environment.
Support the development of science and technology related to electronic, acoustic, magnetic, seismology, radiography, radio frequency, and unintended radiated emissions phenomenology. Support includes, but is not limited to, testing, technical assessment, and/or coordination meetings.
Support the integration of emissions detection, identification, location, and isolation development projects and/or products from the prototype phase to the realization/implementation phase. Support includes, but is not limited to, technical input, coordination, and/or exercise events.
Provide initial tactics, techniques, and procedures to users for transitioning resources through training and documentation.
Continental United States (CONUS) and Outside Continental United States (OCONUS) travel is required. Anticipated travel is up to 25% of total normal working hours.
Extensive knowledge of the electromagnetic spectrum is required, to include radio waves, microwaves, infrared, visible light, ultraviolet, x-rays, and gamma rays.
Proficiency with Adobe products and Microsoft Office software, particularly Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
Ability to work well in a team environment or independently.
Familiarity with military terminology, concepts, and operations.
Ability to communicate effectively with engineers, scientists, commercial vendors, and senior government or military personnel.
Capability of lifting to a height of 40" and, without assistance, carrying equipment, weighing up to 100 pounds, a distance of up to 50 feet.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
5 years of relevant tactical experience in the following mission areas (in priority order):
EOD with ECM trainer / maintainer experience
Electronic Warfare (EW) at the tactical level
Naval Special Warfare Communicator/Special Reconnaissance Team or career field 18E (Special Forces Communications Sergeant), preferably with USSOCOM.
US Department of Defense TOP SECRET security clearance with SCI eligibility.
Training and certification with more than five years' experience on
military tactical electronics. Training and certification shall be through military
courses and on-the-job training or documented through civilian equivalent
courses relevant to military ECM, EW or tactical radio systems.
Desired qualifications include Instructor and/or Public Speaking experience, preferably with USSOCOM.
Valid driver's license and a good motor vehicle record.
