Description
The Analytical Solutions Division (ASD) of Applied Research Associates (ARA), Inc., is seeking an experienced welder with experience in GMAW in aluminum and steel and GTAW in aluminum. Experienced in welding, reading and interpreting blueprints, metal cutting, deburring, and fabrication. Assisting engineers and senior staff members in all aspects of building prototype systems. Must be proficient in MIG and TIG welding processes.
What you'll do as a Welder
Weld metal components together to fabricate or repair products, such as machine parts according to layouts, blueprints, or work orders.
Assist engineers in the design, development, manufacturing, and product improvement of prototype systems
Weld metal parts together, using both gas welding and any combination of arc welding processes, performs related tasks such as thermal cutting and grinding, repairs broken or cracked parts, fills holes, positions, and clamps together components of fabricated metal products preparatory to welding.
Fits all types of assemblies while making proper allowances for material shrinkage and distortion.
Must be able to stand for long periods of time, to include stoop, bend, crouch, crawl, push and pull and wear appropriate PPE
Requires lifting 50lbs or more
Must Haves: Welder
4+ years welding shop experience
Minimum 4yrs GMAW in Steel and Aluminum experience
Minimum 4yrs GTAW in Aluminum experience
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Ability to obtain and maintain a minimum of a SECRET clearance from the US Department of Defense
Applicant must be a U.S. Citizen.
Preferred:
Active / current SECRET Clearance from the US Department of Defense
A familiarity with military equipment would be preferred.

Face to Face panel interview
There is a Welding Assessment immediately after the Face-to-Face interview. This weld assessment has a time limit of 30 minutes.
You
MUST bring your serviceable welding gear: welding hood (Shade 10 or greater), welding jacket and welding gloves. Also, bring safety glasses or ARA could provide a pair of safety glasses for the weld assessment. (If the welding gear in not serviceable then the weld test cannot proceed.) "
