Job Overview:
We are currently recruiting for an Account Specialist on behalf of our client, a company that supplies ingredients to the pharmaceutical, biotechnology, and specialty chemical industries. This is an on-site position located in Meriden, CT.
The Account Specialist will report to the Senior Account Specialist and will be responsible for supporting key customer accounts, managing orders, and ensuring smooth operational processes. This role is ideal for someone with strong account management skills and an understanding of the chemical industry.
Primary Duties and Responsibilities:
Manage key customer accounts in collaboration with department leaders.
Assist with the management of incoming and outgoing shipping activities in accordance with company procedures.
Handle customer complaints and resolve issues in a timely manner.
Coordinate and monitor transport activities and manage relationships with service providers.
Organize and conduct supplier calls and meetings to address ongoing issues and open items.
Assist in the new customer setup process and ensure smooth onboarding.
Participate in customer visits either at the company location or customer site.
Process sales and purchase orders within the relevant ERP system.
Coordinate with warehouse and accounts departments to ensure accurate order processing.
Assist with stock control and inventory checks on an annual basis.
Provide follow-up support to administrators in processing customer and supplier orders.
Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
Education: Bachelor's degree required, or equivalent experience.
Experience: 3-5 years of prior experience in account management or customer service, preferably in the chemical industry.
Skills:
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and other relevant software.
Excellent communication, organizational, and time-management skills.
Strong follow-up skills for both internal and external communications.
