The Youth Nutrition Specialist services the New York City - All Five Boroughs (Brooklyn, Bronx, New York City, Manhattan, Queens) area of territory of coverage.
The Youth Nutrition Specialist (YNS) is responsible for working with K-12 schools within the region to execute programs and actions that have the potential to increase milk and dairy sales throughout the service region market area. The YNS will implement school marketing programs and assist with the development and execution of new innovative methods to also increase participation in school nutrition programs. The Nutrition Specialist will provide consultative support to school nutrition program directors, manage projects, and achieve goals under the overall mission and objectives of the organization.
Position Salary Range: $85,000 - 90,000 Annually

Responsibilities:
Develop and maintain strong relationships with, but not limited to, school nutrition directors, school administrators, local/state partners i.e., anti-hunger groups, departments of education and agriculture.
Responsible for successful placement of K-12 school nutrition marketing programs.
Monitor school nutrition regulations to remain abreast of current events and issues.
Develop customized marketing materials to facilitate the placement of programs.
Collect, analyze, and evaluate data that supports school nutrition programs.
Plan and develop conferences and meetings for school district decision - makers.
Requirements:
Bachelor's degree in nutrition or related field is required.
Minimum of five (5) years of experience in child nutrition program operations, management, and/or child nutrition program sales.
Sales and marketing skills preferred.
Valid Driver's License with a safe driving record and access to a vehicle for business travel.
The ability to travel for business up to 50% of the time during the work week is required to fulfill the school marketing program needs.
Able to work from a home office location residing within or near the New York City - All Five Boroughs (Brooklyn, Bronx, New York City, Manhattan, Queens) service area.
Occasional weekend and overnight business travel required within and outside organization's territory.

Ability to develop, manage and execute clear action plans and projects.
Ability to design, develop, implement, and evaluate programs.
Ability to plan, organize, coordinate media activities and promotional events.
Ability to create, compose, and edit written materials with excellent attention to detail.
Skilled in establishing priorities and working with minimal supervision.
Ability to engage in clear and detailed oral and written communication with external and internal clients effectively from a wide range of constituencies in diverse communities.
Ability to develop and deliver effective oral and written presentations.
Understands and reviews monthly assigned budgets and expenses for programs and projects.
Ability to draft routine reports and correspondence.
Ability to develop and maintain recordkeeping in on-line systems and follow procedures.
Ability to work across the organization to foster collaboration and ensure overall success of goals.
The work location is a home office. It must be based and located within or near the New York City, all five boroughs (Brooklyn, Bronx, New York City, Manhattan, Queens) area.
