Sodexo is seeking a strong Food Service Operations Manager 2 for the United States Marine Corps at Camp Pendleton located in Oceanside, CA. The Operations Manager will report directly to the General Manager and will be responsible for day-to-day oversight of all culinary operations for one of it's Mess Halls.

The Base is home to the I Marine Expeditionary Force, 1st Marine Division, 1st Marine Logistics Group and many tenant units, including Marine Corps Installations-West, 1st Marine Raider Battalion, Wounded Warrior Battalion-West, Marine Corps Air Station Camp Pendleton, Marine Aircraft Group 39, Marine Corps Tactical Systems Support Activity, Marine Corps Recruit Depot San Diego's Weapons & Field Training Battalion, Marine Corps and Army Reserve Forces, the Navy's Assault Craft Unit 5, a Naval Hospital and 1st Dental Battalion. The coastal and mountain terrain support a variety of military training.

The successful candidate will:

Have 3-5 years operational management experience in a high-volume food service dining environment.

Be a people person with a strong focus with maintaining positive client relations ; a solid manager/leader who is perceptive and has attention to details that make a difference - quality and presentation of food - customer service -

Be SERVICE focused- including providing excellent customer service in a welcoming dining environment.

Be proficient in use of online Food Management Systems for menu/recipe planning, ordering and inventory;

Demonstrate proven financial acumen/success: Food costs/ labor costs, budgets.

Qualifications & Requirements

Basic Education Requirement - Associate's Degree or equivalent experience

Basic Management Experience - 2 years

Basic Functional Experience - 2 years work experience in food or culinary services including restaurants, fast food, vending, catering services, institutional services, mall food courts, etc.
