Position Information:

The IT Modernization Solutions Architect is a strategic leadership role responsible for envisioning, designing, and driving the execution of technology solutions that align with and enable the EPA's digital transformation goals. This individual will bridge the gap between business strategy and IT capabilities, acting as a trusted advisor and technical expert.

Key Responsibilities:

Strategic Planning: Collaborate with business stakeholders to understand strategic objectives and translate them into actionable IT roadmaps.
Solution Architecture: Design innovative, scalable, and secure solutions that address business needs while leveraging emerging technologies and industry best practices.
Technical Leadership: Provide technical guidance and mentorship to IT teams, ensuring projects are delivered on time, within budget, and meet quality standards.
Change Management: Lead change management initiatives to ensure smooth adoption and integration of new technologies.
Communication: Effectively communicate complex technical concepts to both technical and non-technical audiences.
Innovation: Stay abreast of emerging technologies and industry trends to identify opportunities for improvement and innovation.
Release Planning and Management: Develop and manage detailed release plans, ensuring adherence to schedules and enforcing code-cutoff dates.
Enforcing Workflow Rules: Implement and enforce workflow policies such as sprint commitments, code-cutoff dates, and run-book procedures.

Qualifications:

Education: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field. Master's degree preferred.

Experience: 10+ years of experience in IT, with a proven track record of successful project delivery and solution architecture.

Skills:

Strong understanding of enterprise architecture frameworks (TOGAF, Zachman, etc.).
Expertise in cloud computing, data management, cybersecurity, and emerging technologies.
Excellent communication, interpersonal, and leadership skills.
Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
Certified IT Architect (CITA), TOGAF Certified, or other relevant certifications.
Proficiency in agile estimation techniques.
SAFe or Scrum certifications (e.g., SAFe Agilist, Certified ScrumMaster).
Knowledge of CMMI and/or ISO certifications.
