Description
We are seeking an experienced Cyber Engineer to support the design and delivery of a secure, monitored, cloud-hosted production laboratory. The laboratory will be used by data science teams to create analytics for insights and AI/ML models for deployment in a high-stakes production environment.
The ideal candidate will be experienced in implementing and maintaining governance requirements, the risk management framework, and securing Authority to Operate (ATO) for new systems. The role involves continuous monitoring, regular audits, and ensuring AI ethics in all processes. A keen eye for detail and a deep understanding of cloud security are a must for the successful applicant.
Key Responsibilities:
Develop, implement, and monitor governance policies and procedures to ensure they comply with external and internal requirements.
Apply a risk management framework to identify, assess, manage, and mitigate risks across cloud-based platforms.
Perform continuous monitoring of cloud services and infrastructure to detect and respond to security incidents in a timely manner.
Conduct regular security audits to ensure adherence to security policies and regulatory compliance.
Lead efforts in securing ATO for new systems, including documentation and coordination with relevant stakeholders.
Stay current with the latest cloud security threats and trends to adjust and improve security measures accordingly.
Develop strategies and implement tools for automated security monitoring and real-time alerts.
Collaborate with IT and development teams to ensure security is integrated into all cloud services and infrastructure.
Promote AI ethics and ensure all automated and AI systems operate within ethical guidelines and legal standards.
Provide expertise and guidance on all matters relating to cloud cybersecurity to various stakeholders within the company.
Participate in the creation of disaster recovery plans and conduct breach incident simulations to ensure preparedness for cybersecurity incidents.
Qualifications
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Cybersecurity, Information Systems, or a related field and 8 years of experience; Master's degree is a plus.
Proven experience in a cybersecurity analyst/engineer role, with a focus on cloud security.
Familiarity with governance requirements, compliance standards (such as ISO 27001, NIST, GDPR, etc.), and the risk management framework.
Strong understanding of cloud computing technologies and services from providers like AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud Platform.
Experience with securing ATOs and understanding of the processes involved.
Knowledge of AI ethics and its implications for security practices.
Certifications such as CISSP, CISM, CCSP, or other relevant accreditations
Deep understanding of data security and privacy, especially in compliance with IRS standards.
Excellent communication skills and the ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams.
Experience using Agile and DevSecOps methodologies, practices and tools.
Desired Skills:
Previous experience working in a regulated environment, particularly within government agencies like the IRS.
Proven track record of identifying security vulnerabilities and risks in cloud environments.
Experience with security incident detection, investigation, and response.
Ability to work in a fast-paced, ever-changing environment.
Experience with CI/CD pipelines and infrastructure as code.
Target salary range: $160,001 - $200,000. The estimate displayed represents the typical salary range for this position based on experience and other factors.
